Karen Healey Stables Finishes Fantastic Winter Season and Moves On to Conquer Spring Shows

Thousand Oaks, CA – April 13, 2007 – Karen Healey Stables has had another outstanding winter season, this time at the HITS Thermal Desert Circuit, which had six weeks of intense competition. The riders, under the tutelage of Karen Healey, won a circuit championship, seven reserve circuit championships, numerous mid-circuit awards and seven Best Rider titles.

The equitation riders had incredible results. As a whole, they won six USEF Show Jumping Talent Search classes, six ASPCA Maclay classes, four USEF Pessoa Medal classes and four Washington International Horse Show Equitation Classics. They won 25 medal classes total over the six weeks.

Tina Dilandri of La Jolla, CA, was named Best Junior Rider twice, while Shelby Wakeman of Westlake Village, CA, earned the honor once. For Best Child Rider honors, Holly Dickinson of Los Angeles was named twice and Haley Harrison of La Cañada, CA, also won once. Yvette Lang-Einczig received the title of Best Adult Rider.

Holly Dickinson and White Gold earned the circuit championship in the Children’s Hunter 13 & Under division, while her mother, Elizabeth Dickinson, was the reserve circuit champion in the Equitation 36 & Over division. Lang-Einczig brought home the reserve championship in the second half of circuit in the same division.

Navona Gallegos and Castana 4 were the reserve circuit champions in the Low Junior Jumpers and won the second half of circuit. Also in the second half of circuit, Lindsay Ramar and Vallarta were champions in the High Amateur-Owner Jumpers.

Skylar Nelson had a great Thermal circuit with her three ponies. On Macy Grey, she was the champion in the second half of circuit and reserve circuit champion in the Medium Pony Hunters. She rode Macy Grey and Magic Formula to bring home the Pony Equitation reserve circuit championship. With Shenanigans, she was reserve circuit champion in the Green Pony Hunters.

Wakeman honed her catch-riding skills this winter in the junior hunter divisions. On Sherman Way, owned by Archie Cox, she was reserve circuit champion in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunters. Julie Winkel’s Cincenatty was the reserve circuit champion in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters.

Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA, piloted her jumper Bauer to first, second and third place finishes in the High Junior Jumper classics. Alison Lajoie and Northstar won a Low Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, as did Lauren Kay and Chip Chap.

Another exciting winter is over, but Karen Healey Stables looks forward to even more success as the year continues. They will show at the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic Horse Show series through April 15, 2007.
