Rolling Hills Estates, CA – September 13, 2006 – Karen Healey Stables competed this week at the Portuguese Bend National Horse Show on September 8-10, 2006. Riders from the barn took home top prizes in the equitation and hunter divisions.
The big winner was Tina Dilandri of La Jolla, CA. Dilandri competed in the PCHA Horsemanship Finals, which had 53 entries. It consisted of three rounds of competition. Dilandri led through the first two rounds and finished as the reserve champion.
Dilandri also came home with the win in the CPHA Foundation Equitation and was sixth in the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship class.
Novona Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM, rode Yvette Lang-Einczig’s Jalapeno to tenth place in the PCHA Horsemanship Finals. New customer Elizabeth Dickinson of Los Angeles, CA, rode her daughter’s horse to fourth place in the CPHA Foundation Equitation class.
Shelby Wakeman of Westlake, CA, got the ride on Laura Wasserman’s Jimmy Choo in the Large Junior Hunters and won the championship in the division. They won three over fences class, were second in the other jumping class, and third in the under saddle. Wakeman rode for trainer Archie Cox of Brookway Stables.
In the jumpers, Fred Bauer and Roma-M finished sixth in the $10,000 Seahorse Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.
Karen Healey Stables travels next to the Oaks Blenheim Fall Tournament in San Juan Capistrano, CA, on September 13-17, 2006.
