Karen Healey Stables Continues Reign of Success
Del Mar, CA – August 2, 2006 – Karen Healey Stables competed this past week at the Showpark Racing Festival in Del Mar, CA. Their results were indicative of another successful horse show in the equitation and jumper divisions for thirteen different riders.

Starting out in the equitation ring, the riders picked up multiple wins. Shelby Wakeman of Westlake, CA, won the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class, while Veronica Tracy of San Juan Capistrano was second. Tiffani Weeda, another San Juan Capistrano resident, finished sixth.

Tina Dilandri of La Jolla, CA, won the WCE Medal, while Wakeman finished fourth. Dilandri also picked up the win in the Equitation 14 & Under over fences class. Wakeman moved up two spots for second place in the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Equitation Classic, and Alexandra Conforti of La Cañada was fourth. Novona Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM, finished third in the Equitation 14 & Under under saddle class.

Karen Healey students picked up four of the top eight places in the Equitation 15-17 under saddle. Weeda was second, Wakeman finished third, Tracy was fourth, and Conforti took seventh place. In the over fences portion of the division, Wakeman was second and Sophie Benjamin of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, was third.

In the Adult Equitation, Yvette Lang-Einczig of Malibu was the one to beat. She won both the flat and jumping classes in the Equitation 18 & Over division. She finished third in the CPHA Adult Medal and fourth in the USEF Adult Medal. She also finished fifth in the CPHA Foundation class, while Tiffani Weeda was second.

Skylar Nelson picked up second place in the WIHS Pony Equitation class. She rode three ponies this week in the hunter divisions to top ribbons. In the Small Pony Hunters, she piloted Magic Formula and Minnie Me. In the Medium Pony Hunters, she and Macy Grey won a class and had a second, third, and two fifth places to round out the ribbons.

Assistant trainer and rider Kasey Ament had a big weekend. She rode horses is six different jumper divisions for ribbons. Starting out in the 1.10m Jumpers, she and Jalapeño, owned by Yvette Lang-Einczig, won a class. Ament rode Lando V for Novona Gallegos to third place in the division. Lando and Ament moved up in height and ribbons in the 1.15m Jumpers when they won a class and picked up a sixth place in the division.

In the 1.20m division, Ament and Porsche, owned by Prestin Persson, finished second. Yasmine Abdallat’s Team Harmony’s More Glory picked up a third and eighth, while Team Harmony’s Rainbow finished eighth. Victoria Eseke’s Sjapoo was fourth. Ament and Rainbow were also fifth in the 1.30m Jumpers.

Ament picked up the pace with Fred Bauer’s Roma M in the 1.35m Jumpers and came home with the blue ribbon. On her own Uniek, who she owns with Rose Carver, Ament finished fifth and sixth in the 1.40m Jumpers. They were third in the 1.40m Jumper Classic.

Karen Healey Stables swept the Modified Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper division. Tiffani Weeda picked up the ride on Porsche, and they finished first and third for the championship. Victoria Eseke of Santa Barbara on Sjapoo were first, fourth, and seventh for the reserve championship. Also in the division were Yasmine Abdallat and Team Harmony’s More Glory, who won the remaining class and were fifth and sixth in the other classes. In the Modified Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, Eseke and Sjapoo were second, while Porsche and Weeda came in third place, and Abdallat and Rainbow were sixth.

Veronica Tracy and Fred Bauer’s Hampton Court finished second in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper division, and they were sixth in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic. Another championship was awarded to Stefanie Mazer of Santa Monica, when she and La Luna picked up first and fifth place ribbons in the Adult Amateur Jumpers.

Karen Healey Stables will compete next at the Menlo Charity Horse Show in Atherton, California on August 8-13, 2006. Riders from Karen Healey Stables are also currently competing for Zone 10 at the North American Junior Young Riders Championships in Lexington, VA. The show runs through August 6.
