Karen Healey Stables Continues Success at Summer Venues

Westlake Village, CA - August 14, 2008 - Karen Healey Stables showed at various competitions in the past weeks and were able to clean up the blue ribbons at all of them. Riders showed at Pebble Beach, the Menlo Charity Horse Show, as well as the Oaks Blenheim Summer I.

At the first week of competition in Pebble Beach, Tammy Chipko of Westlake Village swept the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunters. She rode All That to the championship and was the reserve champion on Amnesty. In the Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic, she won with Amnesty and was second with All That. In the second week, All That was the reserve champion and first in the classic. Amnesty finished second.

Chipko and Amnesty finished with the reserve championship at the Menlo Charity Horse Show and Chipko was fifth in the classic with All That. On her new seven-year-old jumper Limerick, Chipko was second in the Level 6 Jumpers and third in the High Junior/Amateur Jumpers. To wrap up a fantastic week, Chipko was named the World Championship Hunter Rider Amateur leader for the Southwest Region.

Also at Menlo, Tina DiLandri of La Jolla, CA, competed in the equitation on Mr. B, trained by Scott Wilson. They were second in the CPHA Medal and second overall in the WIHS Equitation. For trainer Archie Cox, DiLandri showed Pringle to the championship in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunters. She then piloted Broadway Bound for trainer Mike Endicott to the reserve championship in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters and third in the Junior Hunter Classic.

At the Oaks Blenheim Summer I Horse Show, Karen Healey riders dominated the jumpers. Michelle Morris of La Canada, CA, rode Lichtenstein 7 to the reserve championship and a blue ribbon in the High Junior/Amateur Jumpers. In the same division, Lauren Kay and Damiro 7 were also winners, and Shelby Wakeman rode Punker to a second place and first place in the Classic. Jocelyn Neff and Golden Flip were third in the division and finished second in the classic. In the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers, Juliana Ball and Sjapoo took home a blue ribbon, while Alex Block and Kool Shoes were fifth in the classic.

Wakeman topped a competitive class for the win in the WIHS Equitation, while Neff finished second. They traded the top two spots in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Class, where Morris finished fifth. Morris won the WCE Medal, Lauren Hester was second, and Neff was fourth. Morris also took the top spot in the USEF Medal, Neff was second, and Block was fourth. Hester rode to the blue in the CPHA Adult Medal and was third in the USEF Adult Medal. In the Equitation 16-17 division, Wakeman won the over fences class, Morris was second, and Block was fifth. Block took fourth place in the ASPCA Maclay.

In the hunters, Wakeman piloted Laura Wasserman's Quality Time to the championship in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters for trainer Archie Cox.

In addition to Hannah Selleck's two gold medals at the North American Junior Young Rider Championships, Karen Healey riders also had two other top finishes. Navona Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM, rode Acrobat to fifth place overall individually in the junior division, while Shelby Wakeman of Westlake Village and Punker were fourth in the junior farewell class. Selleck was also given the Style Award at the competition.
