Lauren Hogan and Time to Talk Add Devon Championship to List of 2005 Triumphs

Devon, PA- June 3- The Devon Horse Show started off with a bang for Lauren Hogan and her stellar bay pony, Time to Talk. The thirteen year old rider from Tampa, FL, came to Devon and won her first two classes on Friday, May 27. Time to Talk took the blue ribbons in the model and first over fences class.

Classes resumed on Saturday, May 28. Hogan and Time to talk placed second in the under saddle class, fourth in the conformation over fences class, and finished up third in the stake class. Hogan’s consistent placings and accurate riding gave them the championship over Newsworthy and Olivia Esse.

Hogan’s trainer, Bill Schaub of Over the Hill Farm, commented, “She was a little out of practice, but she really pulled it off. We’re so proud of her.” Hogan and Time to Talk came from a short vacation after they won regularly on the Ocala Winter Circuit. Hogan also rode on the winning Large Pony Hunt Team with teammates Megan Massaro on Brighton’s Absolutely and Paige Dekko on Mokoo Jumbee.

Schaub was in the winner’s circle himself at Devon. He stood Shiloh’s Cool Cat for owner John Phillips and won the Three Year Old Stallion/Gelding Hunter Pony Breeding class. The win put him into the final Stallion/Colt/Gelding Hunter Pony class that included first and second place winners from all three age divisions. Shiloh’s Cool Cat and Schaub ended up as overall reserve champion in the Stallion/Colt/Gelding division.

It was not the first time in the breeding class for Schaub, but it was a new experience with the pony. “They called me the night before the class because they needed someone. I agreed, and it ended up great. I really enjoyed it,” he explained.

In the next week of competition at Devon, Schaub also had a successful First Year Green Hunter. Gold Edition, owned by Michele Allison, received a ribbon in the over fences class on Tuesday with rider Holly Orlando. The ribbon was great for the young horse, who started the year in the Pre-Green classes and has only shown in the First Year Green Hunters for a few months.

Over the Hill Farm and Bill Schaub will continue competing throughout the summer and will be at the Atlanta Summer Classic in Conyers, GA, for two weeks: June 15-19 and June 22-26.
