Aiken, SC -April 21, 2009 - It was an exciting week of competition for Alise and Lucille Oken at the Aiken Spring Classic Masters Horse Show where the pair brought home six tricolor ribbons for their family's Hi Hopes Farm. Top instructors Steve Heinecke and Jeff Wirthman train both sisters at Hi Hopes Farm, based out of Charlotte, NC.

Lucille Oken started the show by garnering the championship prize in the Medium Pony Hunter division aboard Promise after earning three first place ribbons and three second place ribbons. Lucille also took home the championship award in the Large Pony Hunter division with Land's End Mad Hatter. Lucille and Alise Oken's Southern Style were presented with the championship award after their wonderful performance in the Large Junior Hunter 15 and Under division. Lucille then competed with Cool Blue, her newest horse, in the Small Junior Hunter 15 and Under division, where she was awarded the reserve championship prize.

Lucille competed with Southern Style in the Junior Hunter Classic where the pair performed beautifully and captured another first place ribbon. Lucille then moved to the equitation ring where she competed with Mid-Accord in the USEF Hunter Seat Medal and earned the second place ribbon. Finally Lucille competed in the USHJA International Hunter Derby with Cool Blue where the pair earned seventh place overall, despite being the youngest rider competing in the class. Lucille's sister, Alise, also competed in the Derby with her mount, In Style, and the pair earned the tenth place honors.

"Lucille really stepped up during this show," commented trainer Steve Heinecke. "Winning both the Junior Hunter Classic and the Pony Hunter Classic is a huge accomplishment. She was fantastic, she just stayed focused and got the job done."

First she competed in the Small Junior Hunter 16-17 Years division with In Style where the pair garnered the championship tricolor after earning a first place ribbon, two second place ribbons, a third place ribbon, and a fifth place ribbon.
