Lynn Palm Celebrates Success of Women LUV Horses

OCALA, FLORIDA (April 10, 2009) – This past weekend, the Women LUV Horses Event and Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition and Adoption was truly an unforgettable experience for attendees and competitors alike. Held in Ocala, Florida over 3,000 horse enthusiasts took part in the 3-day event that featured a power packed educational forum Clinicians, Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover Competition, Mustang Adoption, Supreme HorseWoman Contest, Cowgirl Party Charity Dinner and Trade Show.

The Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover top ten finalists wowed the crowd on Saturday night with their musical freestyle acts and Jesse Peters of Ocala, Florida and his mustang mare “Aspire” won the 1st place title, cash prize and sponsored awards. Lou Petty and her quarter horse “A Certain Melody” impressed the judges of the Supreme HorseWoman Contest and rode her way to a Supreme HorseWoman Championship Win.

The Friday evening Cowgirl Party Charity Dinner and Silent Auction raised over $10,000 for charities including: AQHA America’s Horse Cares, AQHA Professional Horseman’s Crisis Fund, Mustang Heritage Foundation and local charity Horses N Heroes- Bringing Horses and Children Together.

Maintaining its 100 percent adoption rate, all horses in the Gatorland Extreme Mustang Makeover competition were placed for adoption on Sunday by the Mustang Heritage Foundation, with Jesse Peter’s mustang, Aspire, taking the top spot at $3,000. The second highest adopted horse went to Kit, trained by Katie Williams of Ocala, who was adopted for $2,000 by a generous benefactor who transferred the adoption to Katie. "With the tough economic condition the country is in right now, we feel truly blessed that all of the horses were placed for adoption and at prices that help the Foundation continue its work," said Patti Colbert.

The 2009 Ocala event brought Women LUV Horses to a new level and the Palm Partnership team is looking forward to having the event grow which will benefit all aspects of the horse industry.
