Maria Schaub Wins R.W. "Ronnie" Mutch Championship

Beacon Hill Show Stables Masters Equitation Classes at Devon Horse Show

Devon, PA - May 29, 2007 - At the Devon Horse Show this past weekend, junior riders at Beacon Hill Show Stables received impressive ribbons in the equitation, hunter, and junior jumper classes. Beacon Hill Show Stables, located in Colts Neck, NJ, is owned by Frank and Stacia Madden, who are known to the equestrian industry as two of the top trainers for young riders and rising stars.

Carolyn Curcio and Valvert excelled for first place in the ASPCA Maclay. They pinned third in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, took third in the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) equitation class and also finished third in the USEF Hunt Seat Medal.

First place honors went to Jessica Springsteen in the USEF Hunt Seat Medal Section A, and she also earned ninth in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search aboard Papillon 136. Also at the head of the class was Maria Schaub with her mount Cobblestone. Schaub won the WIHS and earned third in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. Aboard Versace, Schaub led the way for first place in the USEF Hunt Seat Medal Section B. She won the ASPCA Maclay Section B as well as the R. W. "Ronnie" Mutch Equitation Championship, which was awarded to the rider with the most points in the 3'6'' equitation classes.

Chelsea Moss took second with Onatello VDL in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. She rode Logan to fourth in the WIHS, third in the USEF Medal, and fifth in the ASPCA Maclay. Christina Lin finished fourth in the WIHS and ninth in the ASPCA Maclay with her horse Allegro.

Jacqueline Lubrano rode LB Carte Noir to fourth place in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, and she pinned tenth in the WIHS and third in the ASPCA Maclay. Hillary McNerney also earned two fourth places with Timeless in the WIHS and the USEF Medal, and Karen Polle was seventh with Aaron in the USEF Medal.

In the jumper ring, La Movida and Springsteen pinned fourth in the Junior Jumpers and were second in the Junior Jumper Hall of Fame Classic. They came away with the reserve championship and the Shalano Style of Riding Award. In the hunter division, Springsteen received fourth and seventh aboard Sublime in the Small Junior 15 and Under Hunters, and the pair won the stake class for the second year in a row.

In the Large Junior 15 and Under Hunters, Springsteen guided Tiziano to fourth and fifth places, and they were ninth in the stake class. Elizabeth Lubrano competed with her horse Mr. Wendell in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters and won seventh and eighth places and received sixth in the stake class.

Other Beacon Hill students who competed at the Devon Horse Show include Anna Becker, Olivia Clancy, Annie Davidson, Olivia Fass, Laura King-Kaplan, and Rachel Roter.

In addition to showing at Devon, Schaub competed at the Old Salem Farm Horse Show over the weekend. She was Small Junior Champion and the hunter classic winner with Laura King-Kaplan's Heartfelt. She also won Large Junior Hunter Champion with North Country, and the duo finished second in the classic. Schaub was presented the award for Best Child Rider on a Horse. She and the Maddens send a special thanks to the King-Kaplan Family in appreciation for the use of their horses at both Old Salem and Devon.

Beacon Hill Show Stables will continue to show this week at the Devon Horse Show.
