Seasoned Equestrian Martha Jolicoeur Brings Unique Perspective to Real Estate Business

Wellington, FL – October 6, 2006 – Martha Jolicoeur was first known throughout equestrian circles as a world class competitor, and now she has established herself as a top notch realtor that caters exclusively to the equestrian clientele she has built along her way through the ranks.

Jolicoeur began riding at the age of seven in Westport, CT, at Nimrod Farm with Ronnie Mutch. At the age of fifteen, she moved on to train with the current Chef d’Equipe of the United States Equestrian Team, George Morris, for her junior years. In these years Jolicoeur rode to many titles on her small junior hunter, Movie Star. These accomplishments include capturing the best child rider award in Harrisburg, PA, at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and numerous circuit championships at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Palm Beach, FL.

Jolicoeur then decided to pursue her education at St. Lawrence University located in Canton, NY. An overachiever from the start, she attained a double major in both Psychology and Sociology and loved every second of her time there. It was during college that she began training with Canadian Show Jumping superstar and eight time Olympian Ian Miller.

“I learned so much about riding and life in my time with Ian,” stated Jolicoeur. “I will never forget when he told me that I knew how to ride, but I just wasn’t competitive enough. Then he became determined to show me how to find my competitive streak,” she related.

Find it she did. When she finished school, she started training with United States Olympian Norman Dello Joio in Bedford, NY, while living and working in Manhattan, NY. She began showing on the grand prix level, and in 1985 was AGA Rookie of the Year.

Jolicoeur continued competing and traveled on the European tour with George Morris. Her travels took her to England, Holland, and Belgium numerous times and laid the foundation for the many relationships that would later build her equestrian clientele for her real estate business.

Jolicoeur’s husband Pierre, who she has been married to for fifteen years, is a world renowned course designer. He is also founder of the P. Jolicoeur Collection of saddles made by Bruno Del Grange, a business which his wife supports and still works with him in. Together they have a fourteen year old daughter, Isabel, who trains with her father. Isabel competes in the Children’s Jumper division and is looking forward to moving up to the Junior Jumpers this year during the winter circuit. She is also a student at The St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, FL. When Isabel became more involved with horses, Martha Jolicoeur shifted from competing into a full time real estate career.

Jolicoeur was previously based out of her farm in Virginia where she first obtained her real estate license in 1991. She commuted to Wellington during the winters, made the move full time last year, and watched her business soar. “I get as much enjoyment out of working in this business as I did when I was competing,” she said. “It is great to see the process, knowing the work that is behind the scenes and seeing a positive outcome. It is as exciting as waiting to see if you won the class. Now my aim is to win the respect of my clients. I want my clients to know that I will work hard to earn this respect and treat them honestly and fairly,” she added.

“Ian Miller once told me, ‘Winners never quit and quitters never win.’ That saying keeps me going to this day,” said Jolicoeur. “Sometimes, when I have a challenge with a transaction, I equate it to falling off in the schooling ring before a class. Even though you fell off, it does not mean that you can’t go in the show ring and still have a chance to win the class.”
