Announcing the New NAERIC Advantage™

Cash Incentive Program Encompasses Numerous Disciplines and Levels of Competition

The North American Equine Ranching Information Council (NAERIC), has announced the new and innovative NAERIC Advantage™, which offers cash rewards for NAERIC horses competing in any of a broad array of horse shows and events in the US and Canada. A highlight of the new NAERIC Advantage™ is the extensive range and diversity of disciplines eligible for Advantage™ rewards, as well as the inclusion of multiple levels of competition. In addition to the top-rated world and national shows, regional, state, provincial and local shows occurring in the US or Canada, are also eligible for NAERIC Advantage™.

The new NAERIC Advantage™, effective January 1, 2006, will offer value-added, cash rewards to the more than 33,000 horses registered with NAERIC. Designed to benefit and reward the owners of NAERIC horses, the Advantage™ will also help to recognize the achievements of NAERIC horses currently competing in an array of equestrian events across the US and Canada.

Encompassing an unprecedented spectrum of disciplines, NAERIC Advantage™ includes show hunters, show jumpers, dressage, eventing, racing, team penning, barrel racing, cutting, ranch horse, roping, western pleasure, working cow horse, reining, trail, as well as halter and line classes. Another significant element of NAERIC Advantage™ is that cash rewards will be presented to first through tenth place at national and world shows and first through third place at regional, state, provincial and local shows. Designated breed registry incentive funds such as AQHA Incentive Fund, APHA Breeders Trust Fund, ApHC Breeders Trust Fund, and ApHCC Incentive Fund, are matched dollar for dollar for the owner of the horse.

With extensive eligibility reaching across breed and discipline lines, owners of NAERIC horses are urged to check NAERIC Advantage™ eligibility of the shows/events on their 2006 show schedule as soon as possible. NAERIC horse owners may apply to have a show/event added to the NAERIC Advantage™ list of approved shows. Applications for shows /events, obtained online at http://www.naeric.org, must be submitted to NAERIC at least thirty days prior to the start date of the competition and are subject to eligibility regulations and NAERIC approval.

NAERIC Advantage™ replaces the NAERIC Incentive Program (NIP). NAERIC's commitment to the NIP will continue through the completion of payments for 2005 NIP approved events as detailed in the NIP guidelines.

For additional information on the new NAERIC Advantage™ including rules and regulations, applications, show/event eligibility and registration, or to check the list of NAERIC registered horses, visit http://www.naeric.org.
