123rd National Horse Show and Family Festival Provides Enjoyable Activities for Local Community

Wellington, FL – October 13, 2006 – The 123rd National Horse Show and Family Festival (NHS), held from November 29 through December 3, 2006 at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Florida, offers a variety of activities for equestrians, families, and members of the community. An equestrian tradition since 1883, this competition showcases top hunter, jumper, and dressage competitors at their highest levels and brings the Wellington community together to celebrate the occasion.

Along with featuring top notch horses and some of the nation’s very best equestrians, the event will present activities that include the Children’s Fair and an Art Exhibition titled “The Horse: In and Out.” New to this year’s schedule is the much anticipated Wellington Chamber of Commerce Business Expo named “Business Meets Equestrian Expo.”

“Business Meets Equestrian Expo” and the Children’s Fair will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006, on the Great Lawn from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Over 70 business vendors will be set up at the Business Expo, and they will provide information on a broad range of subjects that pertain to their specific businesses. The Art Exhibition will be held throughout the five day show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We used to hold our Business Expo at a different location, but it did not receive the amount of traffic from spectators that a venue like the National Horse Show does,” said Michela Perillo-Greem, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. “Also, a number of our businesses would like exposure in the equestrian community, so we decided that the National Horse Show was the ideal venue. The Business Expo will be a great location for businesses to show off their services.”

The Children's Fair, titled "Big Blow Out,” is sponsored by Mr. Y.G. Walker, III and Friends of Children. The Children’s Fair Celebration will feature a Moonwalk, a 24’ Super Slide, a Balloon Artist, Face Painting, a Rock Climbing Wall, a Survivor Obstacle Course, and Pony Rides.

A Taste of Wellington is a special treat for spectators that offers samples from some of the very best restaurants in the Wellington area. This event will also be held on December 2, 2006 and will be set up in the Special Events Tent from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
