New Cupreon Alloy Leaves a Good Taste in Both the Horse’s and the Rider’s Mouth

January 31, 2006----“Cupreon is a new material created exclusively for Mikmar, specifically for the benefit of horses,” says Dan Weyand, president of Mikmar Bit Company. “We don’t take anything for granted, especially when it comes to the products designed for the mouth of the horse.”

What Weyand is describing is the new, patent-pending Cupreon, a superior Copper alloy designed especially for a horse’s mouth. Offered in eight different bits for 2006, there are two mouthpiece styles to choose from: the Cupreon Ergöm Lozenge Mouthpiece, and the Cupreon French Link Roller Mouthpiece. All Cupreon products are non-toxic, nickel-free, and available exclusively through Mikmar authorized dealers.

Riders love the safety and durability of Cupreon, which in an independent laboratory test was shown to have a higher Copper content (promoting salivation) than any competitor’s bit, while at the same time also testing with a higher tensile strength. Horses love Cupreon for the palatable taste which encourages mouthing of the bit, resulting in a horse that is relaxed and better able to perform. The innovative material also warms easily and is accepted even by horses that are difficult to bit.

Weyand continues, “Copper has long been an important metal for horse bitting, but its soft properties lends itself to a lack of durability. Cupreon solves this problem with an alloy that integrates the best elements of Copper for a long lasting, durable bit. Attention to detail is in our company DNA, and comfort and safety for the horse is our top priority. Cupreon encourages communication between horse and rider, and exemplifies our motto that Mikmar is changing the horseworld… one mouth at a time.”
