Non Pro and Novice Non Pro Bridle Finalists Announced for NRCHA World Championship Show

The Fort Dodge Animal Health National Reined Cow Horse Association Celebration of Champions concluded Tuesday evening with the Non Pro and Novice Non Pro Bridle Preliminaries of the NRCHA World Championship Show, presented by John Deere. The top ten from each division advanced to the finals, which will be held February 6-7 at the 1st Community Federal Credit Union Spur Arena in San Angelo, Texas.

In the Non Pro Bridle, Tish Wilhite rode Hes A Smokin Indian to a score of 441.5 - four points higher than the closest qualifier. It's a position that Wilhite and "Indy" are familiar with. "Last year we won the Non Pro Hackamore prelims, but we didn't do well in the finals. I would really like to be the bride for once, instead of always a bridesmaid," noted Wilhite during a television interview with Skyler Nichols of KSAN, the local NBC Affiliate. "Hopefully this time will be better."

But although Wilhite has yet to win a World title, she has earned three NRCHA National Championships - one of which was on Indy in the Non ProHackamore. Hesa Smokin Indian is by Hickorys Indian Pep and out of Baroak Again.

In the Novice Non Pro Bridle, Danielle Paskowitz and her horse, Smart Tom Tucker, marked the high score - a 429 to lead the rest of the qualifiers for Friday's finals. Paskowitz and Smart Tom Tucker, by Smart Little Lena and out of Disco Tucker, recently earned the Novice Non Pro Bridle Southwest Region Reserve Championship.

The Fort Dodge Animal Health NRCHA Celebration of Champions runs through Sunday, February 8, at the 1st Community Federal Credit Union Spur Arena in San Angelo, Texas. The event begins each day at 8am, with the exception of Sunday, February 8, when it will begin at 10am.
