A Familiar Name in the Lead at the NRCHA Stakes

Jo Anne Carollo Tops Non Pro Herd Work on Repeat Plan

The action started Wednesday, March 28, at the National Reined Cow Horse Association Stakes, at the Idaho Horse Park, in Nampa, Idaho, and Jo Anne Carollo claimed the Non Pro Herd Work Preliminaries victory with a score of 217 on Repeat Plan. Carollo, from Atascadero, California, is one of the NRCHA’s most accomplished Non Pros, with three NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity championships to her credit.

Home-raised Repeat Plan is by A Master Plan and out of Lenas Solana and is owned by Jo Anne and her husband, Jim.

Shane Demler was second with a 216 on Chics A Badger (Peppy Badger Chex X Smart Hickory Chic), with Marc Bourdet on CD Precious Peppy (CD Olena X Splash A Lil Cash) and Laurie Ward on Kiss Me A Little (Smart Little Pepinic X Kiss Me Mister) tied for third at 215.

Demler and Chics A Badger topped the Intermediate Non Pro Herd Work, as well, with Marc Bourdet and CD Precious Peppy finishing second. Robin Flournoy was just behind them on Annies Mister Rose (Mister Dual Pep X Fairleas Annie Rose), with a 214 that also put her in the lead in the Amateur division. Rick Petty on BBR Time Is Precious (A Chic In Time X JRS Peppy Command) and Diana Ceresola on Smokumsprizlilcalboy (Smokums Prize X Lil Calgirl N Charge) were tied for second at 210.

The NRCHA Stakes continues on Thursday, beginning at 8 am with the Non Pro and Open Bridle Spectacular Herd Work.

The event features $180,000 added money and the payout for the Stakes will be about $300,000.
