Terry Christensen and his children Tara and Trevor, made the National Reined Cow Horse Association Stakes Horse Show a family affair. When the horse show classes concluded on Saturday, at the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho, the Christensens rode away with a trio of championships, including three CR Morrison trophies.

Terry topped the Non Pro Hackamore with a 419 (209, 210) on home-grown Classy Sugari (Tangys Classy Peppy X Sugari Colonel). John Ward rode home-grown Miss Smokin It (Smart Little Pepinic X Miss Smoking Leo) to the Open Hackamore Championship. A great fence run earned him a score of 221 to add to his rein work of 211.5 for a composite of 432.5. In February, Ward placed third in the SRCHA Circle Y Derby on Miss Smokin It.

“It’s fun to show her since she’s out of our stud,” Ward said. “She’s a really great cow horse, and has a lot of look in front.” Miss Smokin It is a sibling to Ward’s Open Stakes finalist Smart Looking Boots, as well as his wife, Lauri’s Non Pro finalist, Kiss Me A Little (Smart Little Pepinic X Kiss Me Mister).
