Nicholasville, KY – NTRA ADVANTAGE and JOHN DEERE have come on board as the title sponsors for the NTRA ADVANTAGE and JOHN DEERE First Annual All Breed Charity Horse Show to Benefit the Kentucky Equine Humane Center. The show will be March 29, 2008 at the Shelbyville Fairgrounds, Shelbyville, Kentucky.
Chris McCarron, Hall of Fame Thoroughbred jockey and Seabiscuit star, will be the celebrity judge.
"We are overwhelmed by the support from every facet of the horse industry and how they have committed not just to the show, but to the center," states Show Chair Jennifer Tosch. "We chose the Shelbyville location rather than a Central Kentucky spot to raise awareness for the center and our mission. We are grateful to the title sponsors - NTRA ADVANTAGE and JOHN DEERE - for their support."
The Kentucky Equine Humane Center (KyEHC) plays a life-saving role for horses which would have had dim prospects for a productive future. The KyEHC is a first-of-its-kind facility, established with the specific goal of providing owners with a humane option when they need to give up their horses. Centrally located in Nicholasville, KyEHC gives equines of ANY breed a safe refuge. Any equine - horses, ponies, mules, donkeys and miniature horses - in a precarious situation will be accepted at KyEHC. The vision for KyEHC is to become a model for horse shelters in all 50 states.
The show is rated "F" for fun! 60 classes will run in two rings.
Classes include halter, egg and spoon, Arabian costume, western pleasure, adopted horse, hunter, jumper, dressage and combined test classes. Riders may enter in advance or at the fairgrounds the day of the show. Entry fees are $15/class or $25 for a combined test. Dressage and combined classes must register by March 15 and have a limited number of spots available. All other classes may enter up to the start of show, but the cost per class is $20 for all entries postmarked after March 15 or brought to the show.
Help do the right thing by insuring that a humane option for horses is always available. If you don’t compete, but want to help - sponsorships, program advertising, and vendor opportunities are available.
