Prime Performance Nutrition Endorsee Sean McQuillan Finishes Second at Hagyard Midsouth

Cosby, MO November 6, 2007 – Prime Performance Nutrition endorsee Sean McQuillan of Kilfinnan Stables and his horse Dunlavin Mertise finished second in the Open division of the prestigious Hagyard Midsouth CCI* Three-Day Event, which took place October 17–21 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dunlavin Mertise also received the Best Conditioned Horse Award for the stamina and soundness he displayed throughout the competition’s dressage, speed and endurance, cross country, and show jumping tests.

It was the 6-year-old Argentine Thoroughbred’s first three-day event.

“Winning the Best Conditioned Horse Award is something that we are extremely proud of,” says McQuillan. “Kilfinnan Stables puts a lot of pride and effort into the care and conditioning of our horses, both physically and mentally.

“The Best Conditioned Horse Award really reaffirms that we are doing the right thing for our horses.”

For Dunlavin Mertise, who is known in the barn as “Rio,” the “right thing” is a strict conditioning regimen that includes the Prime Performance Nutrition products MaxForm, Healthy E Oil, and HylaMax.

“Part of taking great care of your horses is finding products that keep your horses healthy, happy and looking good inside and out,” says McQuillan. “Prime Performance products help us accomplish this with our horses, and were a big part of our success with Rio.

“MaxForm really helps support Rio’s joints and keeps him feeling fresh. The Healthy E Oil made a noticeable difference in Rio’s coat and also helps to keep him at his optimal weight. And using HylaMax really made a difference in the last days of competition. Usually by Sunday at a Three-Day Event, horses will feel fatigued. With the help of HylaMax, Rio felt great on Sunday and had a double-clear show jump round.”

Prime Performance Nutrition founder and president Jeff Butler says McQuillan and Rio’s achievements are a great example of the power of the right performance-conditioning program.

“When we work hard to develop these products, it is rewarding to be recognized by professionals such as Sean, and then to be able to raise their competition level is even more rewarding,” he says. “We have been fortunate to have him on board with our team and, as with all our endorsees, we work very closely to fine tune their program using the Prime Performance Nutrition line of products.”
