NYRA introduces Text Message Alerts
Equestrian News Release
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc (NYRA) has introduced a text message service that will alert fans to Pick 6 carryovers and live racing cancellations.
Those interested in the service can sign up by texting the keyword “NYRA” to 84700 or by visiting NYRA.com and registering their cell phone.
“NYRA is pleased to be able to offer text message alerts to its customers,” said NYRA Director of Marketing Neema Ghazi. “We are always looking for ways to engage our fans and I’m certain those who sign up for this service will appreciate receiving Pick 6 carryover and live racing cancellation notifications.”
The text alerts are free to subscribe to, and standard text messaging rates will apply depending on each individual’s service plan. For example, if someone has a cell phone plan with unlimited texting, they will not incur any charges. If someone has a plan with 100 text messages, and the text alert from NYRA is received once the 100 message limit has been reached, charges will apply per the cell phone carrier’s policies.
While NYRA’s text alerts will initially be limited to Pick 6 carryovers and live racing cancellations, their use could be expanded in the future.
