Open and Limited Open Bridle Finalists Announced for NRCHA World Championship Show

The Open and Limited Open Bridle qualifiers for the National Reined Cow Horse Association World Championship Show presented by John Deere competed early Tuesday morning to earn a spot in the World Championship Finals, which is part of the Fort Dodge Animal Health NRCHA Celebration of Champions. The Finals, which will feature the top ten in each division from the preliminary round, will be held February 6-7 at the 1st Community Federal Credit Union Spur Arena in San Angelo, Texas.

Topping the field of 18 in the Open division was Bozo Rogers, of Lipan, Texas, and One Smokin Chic with a 439 - 3.5 points higher than the next closest competitor. One Smokin Chic, by Freckle Face Smoke and out of Ms Peppy Olena, will compete Saturday afternoon for a World Championship, and then will be honored at the NRCHA Awards Banquet with his Supreme Reined Cow Horse Award - the highest honor bestowed on a reined cow horse. The accomplished cow horse is owned by Anderson Cattle Co. of Victoria, Texas. It took a 427.5 to earn an Open Bridle Final's berth, and a 416.5 was the magic number for the Limited Open Bridle, and the Finals will be held on Friday. Jimmy Flores rode The Majors Man for Christine Farrar, of Riverside, California, to lead the 21-horse class with a 435.5. The Majors Man is by Major Vaquero and out of Sneakles Lady.

No day money was awarded to the finalists, but there is more than $16,500 added to the two divisions.
