Our Horses, Our Art Exhibits Record Breaking Success
Equestrian News Release
Northampton, Massachusetts—July 27, 2006—Hailed as a “Must Do Event” by Masslive.com, the equestrian exhibition, Our Horses, Our Art, galloped to record-setting success for GalleryTK and presenting sponsor, Massachusetts Horse magazine. Works by 17 artists from central and western Massachusetts were presented July 23-26 in Northampton, named “Best Small Arts City in America,” and home for 67 years to the New England Morgan Horse Show.
“This was the most valuable show we ever presented,” said GalleryTK manager, Courtney Ralph, who estimated the value (not including work displayed but not for sale) of the exhibit at $45,000. “This was a huge exhibit of equestrian art,” he noted.
Our Horses, Our Art also drew record attendance, including 75 guests to an ‘Unbridled Hospitality’ reception featuring live music by acclaimed local artists, Clay Jazz, hors d’oeuvres sponsored by Big Y Supermarkets, and wine courtesy of Horse Heaven Hills Vineyard, producers of the '14 Hands' label featured in the summer edition of Horses in Art magazine. The Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, Massvacation.com, Northampton Chamber of Commerce, Nutrena Feeds, and Dixon Naturals generously provided 'Unbridled Hospitality' gifts.
“We believe in promoting local artists,” agreed Massachusetts Horse publisher, Stephanie Sanders, and exhibit organizer, L.A. Pomeroy, “We regularly feature them in our magazine’s pages and three exhibitors -- Margot Apple, and Fabio and Sara Deponte --have done covers for us. We were pleased to present such talented artists to the public, and offer Morgan lovers a quality body of work to enjoy while visiting Northampton for their horse show.” Our Horses, Our Art also featured Virginia Berry, Chase Carlisle, Janet Crawford, Tonya Dixon, Judith Duval, Jessica Goddard, Juli Kirk, Tracy Kochanski, Jeanne Mellin, Marion Miller, Christie and Susan Mulholland, Alan James Robinson, and Rebecca Kingsbury Schurink.
