Cappy Tesotti Unique Style Will Add More Than a Dash of Color for PhelpsSports.com
Equestrian News Release
Wellington, FL - April 12, 2006 – “Life is a great big canvas, throw on all the paint that you can,” is Cappy Tesotti’s life motto, borrowed from the inimitable Danny Kaye. According to Cappy; “For me, this rings true, especially as I grow older. There’s so much to learn and do out there – each new experience adds so much to the palette we have in our hands.” This enthusiasm characterizes the captivating approach to her writing that will add more than a dash of color to PhelpsSports.com. According to Executive Editor Jean Llewellyn, “Cappy injects zest and enthusiasm into otherwise ordinary topics, and her columns will put a sparkle in the day of everyone who reads them.”
PhelpsSports.com is a new and highly innovative equestrian sports website offering equestrians and fans of equestrian sports from around the world a single web address for the latest breaking news from the high performance disciplines. The website will include up to the minute audio reports, live video interviews and features from around the globe, photography, and the creative writing and reporting of some of the finest equestrian journalists in the world.
According to Executive Editor, Jean Llewellyn, “PhelpsSports.com is the most exciting initiative to hit the equestrian industry for a long time. Our team of professional contributors will be second to none in terms of the knowledge, skills and expertise that will be applied to the everyday delivery of news, reports and regular columns, not forgetting the world-class photography as well as the audio and audio-visual components. PhelpsSports.com is destined to become the CNN and the New York Times of equestrian sport rolled into a unique package.”
Cappy Tesotti attributes her insatiable curiosity about horses and life in general to her parents. “I remember my parents telling me at an early age to always be curious, ‘for you’ll never be bored if you have a sense of wonder.’ They also instilled in me a sense of adventure. I was an only child who attended nine different schools before senior high, so being curious and not being afraid of what lies ahead certainly came in handy when pulling up roots and moving on. Our family pets always came along, helping to make each transition a little bit easier in each new town. This cemented a bond that was already strong, but also gave me a deeper connection with animals at an early age that continues to grow with each passing year.”
An early career background in marketing, conference speaking, and special event coordinating laid the groundwork for the many years she has spent as a columnist and feature writer for a number of popular high-profile magazines, writing about topics as diverse as gardening, agriculture, equine health/wellness, draft horses and mules, marketing for farmers, rural living, human-interest profiles and more.
“I was looking for someone who would fit the bill as an expert Jack of all trades,” said Jean Llewellyn, “and Cappy fit the bill perfectly. Her investigative skills and research capabilities as a journalist leave me breathless, so I know I’ll be able to present her with an idea and she’ll deliver with a smile. Cappy is every editor’s dream columnist.” Having lived most recently in Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Arizona, and now relocating to Kentucky, Cappy describes her experiences with horses and horse people as, “a delight researching and writing about each one. It’s a thrill sharing their stories with readers, especially when an article brings people together – networking and connecting them with programs, products, events and more.”
“Working for PhelpsSport.com is especially exciting because of so many new discoveries on the horizon. Writing a column is something near and dear to my heart – it’s a way of connecting with readers on a regular basis. I’m really looking forward to sharing ideas, taking them behind-the-scenes and venturing together on a journey beyond the grandstand. My canvas in life continues to fill up with lots of color, so I’d better get a bigger one for this new venture with PhelpsSports.com.”
