Special Appearance of Renowned Spanish Olympic Medalist Rafael Soto
Houston, TX (January 24, 2006) -The National Association of Spanish Purebred Horse Breeders (ANCCE) in collaboration with the Confederation of Andalusian Entrepreneurs (CEA) will host exclusive seminars and workshops on the renowned Pura Raza Espanola (P.R.E.) Horse at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show. The leading P.R.E. horse breeders of Spain will discuss the origin and history, elite competitive qualities, and importing procedures of the infamous and talented P.R.E. horse. The seminars will take place on
March 6th, 7th and 8th at 1:00 PM at the Reliant Park grounds.
The Spanish Pure Bred Horse, the most intelligent, gallant, and noble of horses, maintains its stamina with a measured stance of its power and movements. Its rhythm and grace of execution instill in the rider, as well as in the spectator, a feeling of grandeur. P.R.E. horses are accomplished in dressage, driving, alta escuela, and other disciplines, allowing the Spanish purebred to be praised by riders of any level of expertise. With the return to the art of Dressage, the P.R.E. horse has become very much in demand. As plentiful in talent as he is rare in number, the Spanish Purebred is the dream horse without equal.
The Spanish breed of purebred stallions shot to fame internationally after winning the prestigious bronze medal at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez
2002 and the silver medal at the recent Olympic Games in Athens. As part of the event’s program, Rafael Soto, Spanish Olympic Medalist who participated in the Olympic Games of Atlanta, Sydney, and Athens, will highlight the unique qualities of the Purebred Spanish Horse through his lifelong experience as a horseman: his self-taught beginnings, his acceptance into “La Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre” and his triumphs in the highest of international competitions with his horse, Invasor.
Álvaro Domecq, the founder of “La Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre”
of Jerez and one of the most important breeders of PRE horses in Spain including the infamous stallions Invasor and Ganadero of the Spanish Olympic Team of Dressage, will discuss the history, training, management, and breeding system.
The leading Spanish P.R.E. Horse breeders, along with accomplished trainers and owners will be presenting information about the culture, history, breeding and exportation of horses from Spain. Juan Carlos Altamirano, highly acclaimed scholar of P.R.E. horses, will discuss how and why this race was created, the guidelines formed by the people that made the achievement of this race possible, the reasons for its morphological characteristics and the places in which its creation was carried out.
Manuel González, International Relations Director for ANCCE, will detail the steps to follow in order to import a PRE Horse from Spain: facts to consider, time limits, procedures and pricing estimates. “The P.R.E. Horse Seminars in Houston will be the most informative event ever organized on the Purebred Spanish Horse,” states Mr. González. “The seminars combine the knowledge of an extraordinary horseman, a world-class breeder and an excellent scholar of horses, delivering a comprehensive, multifaceted and educational seminar and workshop”.
At the end of the seminar, guests will have the opportunity to personally meet the entire Spanish delegation in a workshop designed for individual consultations for networking purposes. The Purebred Spanish Horse seminars and workshops are sponsored by the following government entities of
Andalusia: Extenda, Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia, Spain, the Ministry of Agriculture & Fishing, and the Ministry of Economy & Treasury.
Manolo Parejo Guzmán, Corporate Relations Director for CEA, states “I am convinced that these seminars will help the horse lover discover the beauty, elegance, good character and purity of the P.R.E. Furthermore, participants will learn of the history, characteristics and capacity for sport and dressage among this elite group of horses.” Mr. Parejo Guzmán concludes, “The P.R.E. Horse Seminars and Workshops will include a panel of the leading P.R.E. scholars from Spain and has been structured to encourage direct interaction between participants, speakers and the leading P.R.E. breeders in Spain”.
