All-Time Leading Quarter Horse Breeder Carol Rose

DULUTH, Ga., March 16, 2006 - On the heels of being named the Official

Equine Ulcer Product of the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA),

Merial today announced a partnership with Carol Rose, NRCHA Sponsor

Committee Chairperson and American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) All-Time

Leading Breeder of Performance Horses. Ms. Rose will become an official

supporter and spokesperson for the company's equine stomach ulcer

preventive - ULCERGARDT (omeprazole).

The stress associated with confinement, traveling, training and competing

can take a toll on a horse and often leads to stomach ulcers. In fact, these

ulcers can develop in as little as just five days. Available through

veterinarians, ULCERGARD is the only product proven to prevent stomach

ulcers in horses.

"We welcome Carol Rose to Team ULCERGARD and are delighted to partner with

such an accomplished and respected industry leader to raise awareness of the

prevalence of stomach ulcers in horses," said Jeannine Courser, Product

Manager, Merial Equine Pharmaceuticals. "Carol Rose joins a long list of

well-respected trainers and athletes that have a mutual interest in keeping

horses healthy, and we look forward to working with her to further promote

the availability of ulcer prevention with ULCERGARD."

"I am excited about the opportunity to help raise awareness among

performance horse owners about equine stomach ulcers," said Rose. "The

stress on the equine athlete is high, especially during preparation for

competition. ULCERGARD has definitely protected the horses I care for, and I

look forward to promoting ulcer prevention among others in the industry."

Rose has bred 42 AQHA World and Reserve World Champions and earned 13 AQHA

National All-Around titles. After more than 30 years in the industry, Rose

has received numerous accolades from industry organizations both as a

competitor and a breeder. Her personal credits include being the first woman

in history to win a National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) World

Championship, an AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year honor and

induction into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame for representing the

advancement of women in the equine industry.

As part of this relationship, Rose will participate in various consumer

events and promotions representing the ULCERGARD brand, as well as display

the ULCERGARD logo on banners and various branded clothing at competitive

events.
