National Reined Cow Horse Association Hall of Fame Inductions set for

It's always a memorable event and this year's NRCHA Hall of Fame

Banquet will be no exception. Slated for October 2, the banquet will be held

at the Tuscan A-D Rooms at the Peppermill Resort Casino and the magical

evening will begin to unfold at 7 pm - but be sure to get there early for

the cocktail hour, which begins at 6!

The highlight, of course, is the induction of the NRCHA Hall of Fame

Inductees, as well as the NRCHA Hall of Merit honorees. They are

memorialized in the debut of the annual Hall of Fame video which is shown to

the attendees - who often number as many as eight or nine hundred.

Snaffle Bit Futurity Preliminary winners are recognized and receive their

awards and the NRCHA Vaquero Award will be presented, as well.

There's more when the annual Calcutta of the Open Finals is a highlight, as

the night of special awards and music and fun unfolds. A live band for

dancing, a silent auction to benefit the National Reined Cow Horse

Foundation and a delicious meal all combine to make it a memorable night.

For some, the evening begins even sooner. According to NRCHA

Hall of Fame Committee Chairman Ronnie Richards, the 2nd Annual NRCHA Old

Timers Reunion, will be bigger and better!

The event, which debuted in 2007, precedes the NRCHA Hall of

Fame Banquet, beginning at 4:30 pm and wrapping up when the Banquet begins

at 7 pm. And the reunion will be better than ever, thanks to some of last

year's attendees who stepped in to enhance the refreshments at this year's

event - Matt and Lesley Day of Bend, Oregon and T.J. and Debbie Day of Reno.

It's almost enough for the attendees to visit and to decide the

awards for the "oldest old timer" and the "one that traveled the farthest to

get here", but this year another facet has been added - the story-telling

Attendees will compete for the honor of telling the best story -

cow horse show related - and the top two story tellers will be invited to

tell their story for the Hall of Fame Banquet audience.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame banquet are available for $59 per person or

$575 per table (ten seats) from the NRCHA office (580-759-4949) or at the

Snaffle Bit Futurity Show Office at the Reno Livestock Events Center.

Admission to the Old Timers Reunion is free, as long as the attendee is 60

years old or over!
