Pasolongo and Rob Bielefeld Win Second Year Green Hunters at WEF

Wellington, Fla., March 12--Pasolongo and Rob Bielefeld won the first trip over fences in the Second Year Green Hunters Wednesday at the CN Winter Equestrian Festival presented by Zimmerman Advertising.

Bielefeld, of Wellington and the nine-year-old bay gelding owned by Emily Wygod from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. outscored the field of 10 with 86 points. The pair came back for the second round finishing with a score of 81 reserving them third place.

"Our first round was spectacular," Rob said. "He had a good gallop, he was very scopey, jumping slow and round. The second trip I think I could have won but I was too long to the oxer, but fortunately he has the scope to cover it up."

The blue ribbon of the second trip, with the score of 84, was awarded to the seven-year-old bay gelding, Ivy Road, ridden by Gary Young of Camden, S.C. and owned by Molly Crosland of Charlotte, N.C. Ivy Road and Young placed second in the first trip with a score of 85, one point below the leader. This is the fourth time for Ivy Road to compete in the Second Year Green Hunters.

The red ribbon for the second trip over fences went to Origine and Chris Payne. Payne, of Cincinnati, Ohio and the 10-year-old gelding, Origine, owned by Kelli Maddox of Indiana, scored an 83 in the second trip adding to their fourth place finish in the first round also with a score of 83.

"I thought he was great," Chris said. "He took a deep breath when we went in the ring and was very smooth about it all. In the ring he always gives his all."

The Second Year Green Hunters will finish their division on Thursday with the pinning of champion and reserve.
