Robert Johnson Hosts Party for Equestrians to Celebrate 2008 Charlotte Jumper Classic

Wellington, FL - March 3, 2008 - This past weekend, Robert Johnson hosted an intimate cocktail party for equestrians to celebrate this year's Charlotte Jumper Classic, which will run from April 11-13 at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC. This year's event offers $700,000 in prize money for junior, amateur-owner, and open jumpers and hosts one of the richest grand prix events in America, the $500,000 Grand Prix of Charlotte.

Saturday's soiree was held at Johnson's stunning home in Wellington, FL. Equestrians were invited to attend for information on the 2008 Charlotte Jumper Classic and to enjoy drinks and tantalizing food poolside. The food was catered by Catering Concepts and Concessions and included butler-passed hors d'oeuvres such as chicken satay, lollipop pork chops, coconut shrimp, and rum-infused grilled lime shrimp.

Guests at the event included: Stadium Jumping Inc. President Eugene R. Mische, U.S. Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe George H. Morris, Jane Forbes Clark, Elizabeth Busch Burke and Bobby Burke, Jill and Allan Shore, Melanie Smith-Taylor, Beezie, John, and Stacia Madden, Peter and Andrew Welles, Chris Kappler, Diana and Bertram Firestone, Alison and Andrew Robitaille, Brianne Goutal, Eliza Shuford, Alexa Lowe, Irish Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe Robert Splaine, Lauren and McLain Ward, Margie and Steve Engle, Danielle and Jimmy Torano, Kent Farrington, Jeanne Hobbs, Alexa Weeks and Rodrigo Pessoa, Whitney Weeks, Joe Fargis, Tracey Weinberg, Paige Johnson, and Ashley Fleischhacker.

The Charlotte Jumper Classic is a signature fundraising event for the Bobcats Youth Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of children and youth in the community. The upcoming 2008 Charlotte Jumper Classic will benefit the Bobcats Youth Foundation's three signature initiatives: Building reading and technology centers, resurfacing outdoor basketball courts and supporting the Presbyterian Hospital Community Care Cruiser, a mobile health clinic providing needed healthcare to disadvantaged children.

The Charlotte Jumper Classic is North Carolina's premier equestrian competition, hosting more than 200 horses in Uptown Charlotte and featuring $700,000 in prize money.
