Rocky Mountain Horse Expo Benefits Renee’s Friends Fund

Cancer can interrupt a horsewoman or man’s life all too fast. Since the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo believes the “horse life” is the healthiest one, they are pleased to benefit a Colorado-based non-profit that helps horsewomen and men get back in the saddle as soon as possible. Established by a group of dressage enthusiasts, Renee's Friends Fund partners with local hospitals and cancer treatment centers to assist any breast cancer patient in need with non-medical expense items such as transportation, household costs, food and supportive help and therapies.
Treatment and medical costs make it difficult for patients to work and meet the normal expenses of daily living, let alone afford the supportive therapies and related supplies that medical insurance doesn’t cover—so friends of dressage rider and breast cancer survivor Renee Coble started Renee’s Friends Fund (http://www.reneesfriendsfund.com), which is now financed by proceeds from designated horse shows and events as well as by private contributions.
In honor of Renee’s Friends Fund and other efforts to fight breast cancer, the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo will celebrate “Pink Sunday” at the next three Horse Expos. 10% of that day’s gate proceeds will go directly to Renee’s Friends Fund. In addition, anyone who comes wearing a pink shirt will receive $2.00 off the price of a daily admission ticket.
