San Juan Ranch Sponsors Exhibitor/Owner Breakfast at NRCHA Derby

The 2008 National Reined Cow Horse Association Derby will be held June 17-22, 2008, at the Paso Robles Event Center, located in the beautiful town of Paso Robles, California. It is the Association’s largest event for 4- and 5-year-old cow horses, so it’s no surprise that finals day brings both tension and excitement for owners. With preparation beginning before daylight, dedicated riders school and prepare their horses for the competition to come.

John and Brenda Stephenson, owners of San Juan Ranch, are familiar with this scenario, and that awareness inspired them to sponsor the San Jan Ranch Exhibitor/Owner Breakfast, held in the Barn next to the main arena. For the fourth year in a row, the Stephensons are presenting a special Sunday morning Derby Breakfast, free for all exhibitors, owners, and sponsors.

“We’re pleased the NRCHA has come back to Paso Robles for the NRCHA Derby. We hope to see everyone at the Barn Sunday morning prior to what will undoubtedly be an exciting finals day,” noted Brenda.

The San Juan Ranch, located just east of Paso Robles, is the home of Stephenson’s Performance Horses and to their herd of registered pure bred Belbvieh beef cattle. Covering 33,300 acres of rolling grassland in California’s Coastal Mountain Range, the ranch is situated midway between the Pacific Ocean and the fertile San Juaquin Valley in Eastern San Luis Obispo County and its history dates back to the era of Mexican land grants.

Through the support of a Corporate Partner family that includes Wayne Hodges 4-Star Trailers and Outlaw Conversions, Bob's Custom Saddles, Cinch, Inc., Classic Equine, Gist Silversmiths, MD Barns, Platinum Performance, Inc., Nutrena, Quarter Horse News & Performance Horse magazine, the Peppermill Hotel/Resort, Fort Dodge West Nile Innovator, Rios of Mercedes, Merial products ULCERGARD and GASTROGARD, Great American Insurance Company and the Silver Legacy Hotel, the association works to keep the vaquero tradition alive in today’s equine industry.
