Week 9 is the fourth show for Emerson at WEF although the two have been competing together for a year. Raposa and Emerson train with her mother, Kara. Emerson is one of six mounts Schaefer competes at WEF.

"He went really well today, " Schaefer said. "He is a fun pony to ride. He has a big stride and good lead changes and gives you a nice feeling over the jumps, slow and bounding. He always tries hard."

Reserve champion was Lillie Keenan, 11, of New York and the 11-year-old gray gelding, Beau Rivage, owned by Casey Green Westport, Conn. Lillie rides with Peter Pletcher and Patricia Griffith of Katonah, N.Y. Keenan and Beau Rivage placed second in the first trip over fences and won the second trip, adding to their two fifth places on Saturday.

Second place in the second trip Sunday was awarded to the 11-year-old chestnut gelding, Lands End Mad Hatter ridden by 12-year-old, Lucille Oken of Charlotte, N.C. Mad Hatter is owned by sister Alise Oken and they ride with trainer Robby Hunt of Monroe, N.C. Week 9 is the second week for the pair to compete in the Large Pony Hunters together.

"He went really good today," she said. "He just came back from an injury and this is only his second show. I've been working on my position a lot so I think that helped. I am so happy to have him back."
