ShowNet Equestrian Information Service Announces Extensive Summer Schedule
Equestrian News Release
Wellington, Fl – April 15 - David Orlando and Grant Williams, founders of ShowNet, the online equestrian information system dedicated to improving equestrian efficiency through advanced time management tools, have released the preliminary schedule of ShowNet’s summer horse shows.
The schedule, which currently includes thirteen events, is expected to expand even more following the signing of additional events within the next few weeks. The schedule also includes the first simultaneous shows available on ShowNet. The first week of Old Salem Farm in New York and the Kentucky Spring Show in Kentucky will occur concurrently in early May. “We’re excited about this,” said Grant Williams. “This allows people at Old Salem to view Kentucky results live from their PDA while they’re at Old Salem, and vice versa.”
“And everything from both shows, including live online scoring, will be available on the World Wide Web,” added David Orlando.
ShowNet, which is available via the wireless network locally at every horse show or via the Internet, includes complete orders of go for all classes in multiple rings, online adds and scratches and live scoring of both hunters and jumpers. ShowNet is accessible on the World Wide Web at http://www.shownet.biz.
In addition to tracking how many horses have gone and how many remain in each class at each ring, the software offers “live scoring,” stand by lists and once the class is completed, results with scores, faults and times are posted. The system was designed to help subscribers plan their days and to save the time and hassles normally associated with the search for information. The system utilizes high quality fiber optic cable and tracking beacons to create an all encompassing wireless network that allow subscribers access from anywhere on any ShowNet show grounds.
Subscribers around the world can log on to http://www.shownet.biz.
In addition to two weeks at Old Salem and seven weeks of showing at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, ShowNet will be available at the prestigious Devon Horse Show in Devon, Pennsylvania, the two weeks of showing in Lake Placid, NY, and at the Monmouth County Horse Show at East Freehold Park in New Jersey.
“Within the next couple of weeks, we’ll be announcing a number of additional shows to our summer and fall schedule,” said Williams. “We’re confident that, because of the popularity of ShowNet among exhibitors and people watching on the Internet, more and more shows will be signing on in the very near future.”
