Snaffle Bit Futurity slides into Paso Robles Event Center

PASO ROBLES, CA: Stock horse fans will have an opportunity to experience the excitement of the 4th annual National Stock Horse Association (NSHA) Snaffle Bit Futurity at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, Calif., Aug. 17-24, 2008.

The Futurity is the triathlon of the western horse world, with events of California's Spanish Vaquero tradition: herd work (cutting), rein work, and fence (cow) work. The riders will compete on 3-year-old horses, which began their training from start to competition-ready as 2-year-olds. Over 300 horses from throughout the country will be competing at the 2008 NSHA event.

"This is one of the best spectator sports there is," said Ted Robinson, two-time World's Greatest Horseman and co-founder of the NSHA. "Any horse enthusiast will really enjoy the finals."

The NSHA Snaffle Bit Futurity will also feature The Golden Hills Auto Center World's Richest Stock Horse Competition, which will showcase legendary horses and great riders. The competition will be held in the event center's rodeo arena Saturday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at the box office.

Throughout the week, other event highlights will include: The Western Trade Show; Team Penning and Ranch Sorting competitions; Select Horse Sale; Invitational Horse Sale; Non Pro Bridle Extravaganza; Stallion Auction; and Horse Show.

Event tickets will be on sale Aug. 17-24 at the Paso Robles Event Center Box Office. For more information on the National Stock Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity, visit http://www.nationalstockhorse.com.
