Sophia Gali and Miss Australia!

AUGUST 11, 2008– At the Manchester & the Mountains Horse Show in East Dorset, VT, Sophia Gali of Potomac, MD was at her peak. Gali was Champion in the Small Pony Hunters aboard the Miranda Gali-owned Miss Australia and was also the blue ribbon recipient in the Pony Hunter Classic.

Sister Miranda also earned impressive ribbons this week. With her own Chris Craft, Miranda earned a 1st and 2nd place over-fences in the Green Pony Hunters. And in the Medium Pony Hunters, Miranda and the Centennial Farm-owned Catamaran secured a 3rd place over fences, among others, and a 7th place in the Pony Hunter Classic.

“We were so very happy with both of the ponies and the results this week,” said Mom Kris Gali, who operates GaliCo Equine LLC. “Vermont is one of our favorite venues. “There is so much to do and it’s so very beautiful and peaceful. We’re always excited to come here.”

Both Gali sisters train with Patty Foster at Rolling Acres Farm in Brookeville, MD.

This week the Galis head to Lexington, KY to compete in the 2008 USEF Pony Finals. This is their first year at the prominent event.

At the 85th Annual Blowing Rock Horse Show II in N.C., the highlight event was as simple as one, two, uh, four for Aiken, S.C.’s Daniel Geitner. In the L.P. Tate Jumper Classic, Geitner won the class with Jumbo Jet, owned by Ann Ritter. He was also 2nd aboard Snook, owned by Sara Stumberg and 4th with Casino Royale, owned by Grace Howard and Robbie Hunt.

Geitner helped pilot Hunt’s Steinway to Grand Champion honors in the Pre Green Hunters and Casino Royale to 1st and 2nd place in the Level 6 Jumpers.

Switching to trainer mode, Geitner guided Victoria Wilson and her horse her CR Day Date to 2nd place in the Jr/A-O Jumper Classic and Mary Huitt and Salty, owned by CDS Stables, to Reserve Champion honors in the Green Pony Hunters. The team was then named Grand Green Pony Hunter Champion.

Also at Blowing rock, Grace Howard, riding for Robbie Hunt and his Monroe, N.C.-based Hunters Lane, earned a blue ribbon in the Large Pony Hunters with When in Rome, while Mom Kimberly Howard was 3rd in the NAL-WIHS Adult Hunter Classic and 4th in the Ariat National Adult medal with her horse CR Galileo.

Congratulations to all!
