Steeplechase Times Opens Fantasy Stable Game

FAIR HILL, Md. -- Railbirds and horse-racing fans always seem to know what
to do. Now they can run things the way they like, and earn prizes doing it,
as Steeplechase Times presents the Hoffberger Insurance Group "Pick Six"
fantasy stable game.
This contest lets race fans assemble a string of six steeplechasers, then
monitor their progress throughout the year. As the horses earn purses, the
players can earn prizes. While the contest is free to enter, there's $2,000
worth of prizes available, including $1,000 in gift certificates to ST
Publishing or our advertisers and two Patron Memberships in the National
Steeplechase Association.
Prizes will be awarded for:
Best Name: A $50 gift certificate will be given to the most creative stable
name in the contest.
Monthly Leaders: Leading stable at the end of April, May, June, July,
August, September, October, November receives $50 gift certificate to any ST
advertiser.
Season Leaders: The top two stables for 2007 receive one-year Patron
Memberships to the National Steeplechase Association (courtesy of past "Pick
Six" champion Pauline Hutchinson). The top three stables receive gift
certificates for $300, $150 and $100 respectively. Gift certificates can be
used at ST Publishing (subscription renewal, advertising, Tervis Tumblers,
custom lawn jockeys, Thoroughbred Racing Calendar, a discount on the ST
International trip, etc.) or any Times advertiser.

following these instructions.
Step 1:Pick a stable name. Be creative, but keep within the bounds of a
family newspaper.
Step 2: Pick six horses for your stable. Any horses you want (from horses
we've heard of to horses no one's heard of). Limitations: The stable must
include at least one timber horse, at least one filly/mare and at least one
horse that started 2007 as a steeplechase maiden.
Step 3: Make your selections before 1 p.m., April 14. That's the final
deadline but with four spring dates before then, savvy players get a head
start.
Step 4: Sit back and watch. We'll keep score throughout the year. The
contest results are based on earnings by your stable in U.S. steeplechase
races during the 2007 racing season. One entry per person please, but feel
free to sign up friends, family, co-workers, et al.
