Stewart and Dynamic Triumph at 111th Annual Monmouth County Horse Show

Freehold, NJ – August 17, 2006 – The professional hunter divisions concluded today at the 111th Annual Monmouth County Horse Show at East Freehold Park in Freehold, NJ. Scott Stewart, the nation’s winningest hunter rider, piloted Dynamic to two blue ribbon finishes in the Regular Working Hunters. With his double win today and his two blues from yesterday, Dynamic captured the overall championship for the division. The chestnut gelding is owned by Fashion Farm of Philadelphia, PA.

“He was great today,” smiled Stewart. “Actually, he jumped great in all four classes. He’s very careful, and he hasn’t done this that much. This is only his third time doing this division. He’s a very sweet horse- like a puppy dog, and he felt great and jumped wonderfully.”

“He is eight years old,” added Stewart. “I bought him as a three year old, and then he did the junior hunters with Carolyn Kelly. Last year Glen Senk, who owns Fashion Farm, bought him and now shows him in the Adult Amateur Hunters. He’ll show over the weekend. From here he’ll do the Regular Workings at the Hampton Classic, and Glen will do his division there as well.”

Reserve champion in the Regular Working Hunters was awarded to Jennifer Alfano aboard Rock Star, owned by Jennifer Burger of Snyder, NY. Alfano rides for SBS Farms, Inc. of Buffalo, NY.

In the First Year Green Working Hunters, Sterling and Jennifer Bauersachs returned to the arena for a double victory. The duo won both over fences classes and entered the winner’s circle for the division championship. Sterling is owned by Lee Kellogg of New York, NY. The reserve championship was pinned on the bridle of Heartfelt, the adorable six year old gelding that is owned by Molly Ohrstrom of The Plains, VA.

The Second Year Green Working Hunters wrapped up today with Mombo and Jennifer Bauersachs winning both over fences classes and receiving the division tricolor. Mombo, who is owned by Maria Takacs of Rumson, NJ, also received the Grand Green Hunter Championship for earning the most points out of all First and Second Year Green Hunter classes. Stewart guided Music Street, owned by Alexa Weisman of Sherborn, MA, and the pair’s consistency in the show ring secured them the reserve championship.

In the Green Conformation Working Hunters, Stewart’s performance with his horse Banner sealed them the division championship. The reserve championship went to Ashton, ridden by Ken Berkley for owner Karen Long Dwight of New Vernon, NJ.

The Grand Hunter Ring continues tomorrow with the WIHS Hunter Phase, the Junior Hunters, and the Amateur-Owner Hunters.

The Monmouth County Horse Show is a member of the World Champion Hunter Rider program. The competition was chosen by the American Hunter and Jumper Foundation for its high show standards, which include such important facets as good footing, appropriate schooling areas, exhibitor hospitality, appropriate ring size, top judges and officials, responsiveness to exhibitor feedback, parking, and seating.

Points earned at this competition go towards the WCHR National Awards program, which recognizes the top Professional, Junior, Adult Amateur, Pony and Amateur hunter riders in the nation. These riders are then invited to compete directly against one another in Challenge Classes at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, MD, in October.
