SunCoast Gives back to the Horses!

June 16, 2008 -- Wellington, Florida -- The Equine Industry is a vast and multi faceted industry and community. It is made up of people from all walks of life and all different backgrounds. It consists of but not limited to anyone and everyone from show jumpers, trail riders, breeders, rescues, feed suppliers, tack store owners.... and the list goes on.

As a rescue you never know what individuals or organizations/companies recognize the value of a horse not just in monetary but also as an American hero and a part of this country's economics and entertainment. There are some that just take the horse for granted and then there are some that step up and say..... we appreciate the horses and we want to give back. The horse industry has a $102 billion impact on the U.S. economy and when the multiplier effect of spending by industry suppliers and employees is taken into account. Including off-site spending of spectators would result in an even higher figure.

Today SunCoast shavings "gave back to the horses," they showed that as a company affected by the economic contribution of the horse industry... they appreciate the horses and horse welfare. SunCoast Shavings delivered over 1000 bags of shavings to Pure Thoughts Inc, Horse & Foal Rescue and there are not enough ways for us to say THANK YOU. This was an enormous contribution and helped the rescue immensely.... Shavings are needed just as hay, feed, vetting etc and by SunCoast making this gracious donation it allows the rescue to direct the funds that would have had to been used for the shavings to other avenues such as feed, hay, vetting etc.

Tonight when we did the night check the horses got up in their stalls, most were sleeping in the thick beautiful shavings gave a big yawn and shook the shavings out of their mane!! Together they gave SunCoast Shavings a BIG HOOVES UP!!!

All of us at Pure Thoughts Inc. Horse & Foal Rescue would like to thank SunCoast shavings for their generous donation!!! You went above and beyond and we cannot thank you enough.

Join us on this mission to save horses and help us have more days like this one in May where... for one day ... all the horses were safe. To contribute you may go to the website http://www.PTHR.org or you may send a donation to Pure Thoughts Inc. 19181 Capet Creek Ct., Loxahatchee, FL 33470. You may also contact Jennifer at 561-254-0415

Pure Thoughts is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of horses, yearlings and foals that were bound for the foreign owned slaughterhouses in our country. These horses would have been brutally tortured and slaughtered so that they could be served as a delicacy in foreign countries. In addition we also rescue horses from starvation, abuse and neglect, any horse in need. We have saved over 1150 innocent equines and as long as these cruel acts continue we will continue to fight for the horses. We cannot do this alone...we need your help!! Please help us and others save these beautiful animals and please remember in your thoughts the ones we were unable to reach.
