Tavern on the Green to Sponsor Ring One at 2007 Jumper Classic

The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic is pleased to announce that Tavern on the Green, the renowned restaurant in New York's Upper West Side, will sponsor Ring One at New England's premier show jumping event. Over $15,000 in prize money will be award to exhibitors who will win in the various classes that take place inthis ring over the course of the five day event.

"Having the Tavern on the Green as a sponsor is a perfect fit for the Jumper Classic," said Melissa Lovasco, President of the Jumper Classic. "Jenny Oz LeRoy, the owner of Tavern on the Green, is a show jumping rider herself, in addition she manages a very special restaurant that is host to thousands of riders over the course of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida."

First opened in 1934, Tavern on the Green has become an icon on the southeast quadrant of Central Park. It is an eclectic restaurant whose décor and bill of fare delight the senses. Living up to her father's theatrical legacy, Jenny has done extensive refurbishment to add more sparkle and joie de vivre to the Oz-like atmosphere. Jenny's middle name, Oz, was inspired by the movie, The Wizard of Oz, which her grandfather, Mervan LeRoy, produced and directed. Oz influence is also found in her boutique business, Jenny Oz, which offers a unique line of equestrian accessories.

Jenny has recently joined the Board of Directors of The Jumper Classic. "I'm excited to be part of this horse show and to be able to do something to help an organization that is so dedicated to both horses and riders," she says. "It's very efficiently run and there is a lot of energy there. I wish it lasted two weeks instead of one!" Jenny also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Horse Show Association of America until recently.

2007 marks the 18th year of the Jumper Classic. Five days of top notch show jumping competition will be held at the Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic, presented by Animal Planet, which takes place at the Schooling Fields in South Hamilton, Massachusetts from Wednesday, September 5th to Sunday, September 9th. On Sunday, the event culminates in the $75,000 AGA Grand Prix sponsored by Fidelity Investments, and the $10,000 Mohegan Sun Speed Stake. Olympic caliber show jumping, a VIP Pol Roger Champagne Luncheon, spectacular Opening Ceremonies sponsored by Bombardier Skyjet and a musical performance by Jim Boggia of bluhammock Music, Intermission Sponsor, will make for a unique gala event celebrating the horse and rider.
