Tavern on the Green Parts Ways with Winter Equestrian Festival and Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC

Wellington, FL - January 9, 2009 - Tavern on the Green has parted ways with Wellington's Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) after a mutual agreement between Tavern owner Jennifer LeRoy and Equestrian Sport Production's, Mark Bellisimo. After New York City's legendary Tavern on the Green opened a restaurant in Wellington, The Equestrian Club by Tavern on the Green, both parties have mutually agreed to go their separate ways.

The announcement that Tavern on the Green will no longer be responsible for the food service at WEF was a joint decision made respectfully between Jennifer LeRoy and Mark Bellisimo.

"At the beginning of the season Mark and I discussed menus and serving styles," commented Tavern on the Green's owner, Jennifer LeRoy. "He is the owner of the building and the operator of the horse show and I think that he just wanted to do things in a different style than Tavern on the Green does things. It was a very mutual decision."

Bellisimo also commented, saying, "Jenny has a lot of great opportunities going on and we thought it would be best to go a different way with things. We are going to rename the restaurant and put in several other food venues around the show grounds. We are working on a new theme and going with a more expanded, family oriented menu and lower prices. I think that we will see the plan evolve over the next couple of days."

LeRoy respects what Bellisimo is trying to do, but is not looking to go in that direction with her restaurant. "He wants a more casual atmosphere, and with Tavern on the Green, I have to represent my brand," LeRoy commented. "We have a certain flash about us, my father drove around in a pink limousine and had rhinestone suits, and that's what is so great."

"I believe in Mark's vision for the property and I respect his passion for it," LeRoy continued. "I am sad because I will miss the customers here, but I won't be a stranger to the community and Mark and I have said that if there is an opportunity for something down the line for Tavern on the Green that I would do that."

"I don't think Tavern on the Green is leaving Wellington quite yet, but we will see where our future lies," LeRoy stated.

"Although people would like it to be a big fight, it is not," she continued. "I am a part of Wellington and Mark is a part of Wellington and we have seen a lot of people get into arguments and we just don't want to go down that road. I am helping with the transition and they know that I am a phone call away and will be helpful in any way that I can."

Along with the food services at WEF, Tavern on the Green had also agreed to exclusive catering services for several high profile charity events, which LeRoy assures will be taken care of. "We are handling things on an event to event basis," she said. "We have contacted people and said that if they still want me to oversee an event that I would be happy to do it. I will do whatever the customers are comfortable with and I will find a way to honor all contracts that we have. If I have to I will bring people down from New York and have the events done."
