Taylor Adams Wins Tricolor at 2006 USEF Pony Finals

Taylor Adams Wins Tricolor at 2006 USEF Pony Finals
Lexington, KY – August 17, 2006 – It was another successful show for Taylor Adams of Eads, TN, and Over the Hill Farm’s trainer, Bill Schaub, of Sanford, FL. The pair, along with the adorable medium pony, True Blue, were one of select few that took home a tricolor ribbon last week at the 2006 USEF Pony Finals.

True Blue and Adams competed in the Medium Green Pony division and took home the reserve championship. They finished fourth in the model class and jumped a beautiful course for third place. The pair then competed in the Pony Medal and were called back in 12th place out of 202 competitors. For their fantastic showing, they were also awarded the reserve championship for Welsh bred ponies. True Blue, an auction graduate, won a saddle from Professional Auction Services for being the high score pony.

Adams piloted another Schaub-owned entry, All Heart, to the third place overall in the Large Green Pony division after a fourth place finish in both the model class and the over fences class.

Another Over the Hill Farm student, Claire Connaghan, won the Emerson Burr Horsemanship test for the 9-11 age group. Her pony Freedom and two grooms, Javier Guerra and Amado Ramos, won the award for the Best Groomed Green Pony. Schaub commented, “They keep their pony at home, so this says a lot about Claire's dedication to horsemanship.”

One of the most anticipated events at the Pony Finals is the sale auction. This year, Schaub brought eight ponies and sold them all. He noted, “My average was $24,000, which is very high for a sale average.”

Schaub and Over the Hill Farm will continue showing this summer and prepare for the fall indoor show circuit, where they are likely to take home more tricolor ribbons.
