Telluride Farm Takes Top Ribbons at HITS Ocala Circuit, Caitie Hope Wins Champion Aboard Lyle in Junior Hunters

Ocala, FL - March 17, 2008 - This past week Telluride Farm, based out of Hampshire, IL, wrapped up its final week of showing at the HITS Ocala winter circuit in Ocala, FL. With the help of their trainer, Diane Carney, the riders at Telluride Farm continued to shine in the spotlight and capture top awards and recognition.

Caitie Hope and her new mount Lyle, owned by Stephanie Keen, joined the winner's circle once again and captured their third consecutive championship in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunter division. The rider, who resides in Barrington, IL, had a stellar week in the junior hunters, winning four first place ribbons and a fourth under saddle.

Additionally, Hope and Lyle were presented with the Small Junior 16-17 Hunter Circuit Championship for HITS Ocala. She came away with another tricolor when she received the reserve championship in the Large 16-17 Junior Hunters aboard Caped Crusader, owned by Alex Jayne. The pair won first under saddle and second and third over fences, and they pinned eleventh in the Large Junior Hunter Classic. Hope also had a beautiful trip in the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Classic. In the jumper ring, Hope earned competitive ribbons with La Paz and Corrato.

"We had a great week," commented Carney. "Caitie really finished the circuit well with Lyle, and she was one of few juniors to almost make the top 12 in the International Hunter Classic."

"Hannah Gorman jogged in every junior hunter class during the weeks that she showed her horses, Cactus and Skyland's Wonder," continued Carney, "and she also competed in her first High Children's Jumper Classic, which was really an accomplishment for this young rider."

"Also, Stephanie Pearson did an excellent job competing with Symphatico III and Wild Cat. We look forward to another competitive few weeks when we go to Tampa."

The horses and riders at Carney's Telluride Farm will compete next at the Tampa Equestrian Festival at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Festival in Tampa, FL.

Carney, based out of Hampshire, IL, has been both an active participant and influential trainer in the hunter and jumper community for many years. Her contributions to the industry extend to the many clinics that she teaches every year, in addition to those that she hosts annually for U.S. Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe George H. Morris and top hunter/jumper trainer Don Stewart Jr. Carney is also a driving force behind the United States Hunter Jumper Association's High Performance Hunter Committee, which seeks to develop a program that will bring the lost art of tradition and horsemanship back to the show ring.
