TheHorse.com Unveils Redesign

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- TheHorse.com launched the first phase of a redesign this week in order to better serve its users in their pursuit of cutting-edge, veterinarian-approved information on horse health. The more user-friendly format has been released in conjunction with the redesign of its print counterpart, The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care, which is rolling out its new look in the July issue. The changes to TheHorse.com are the first in a number of steps to better serve users with information on horse health, care, management, and welfare in a variety of ways, including breaking news, in-depth articles, electronic newsletters, videos, Webinars, Horse Courses, downloadable Special Reports, an RSS news feed, Ask the Vet questions and answers, and blogs.

Users of TheHorse.com will continue to notice the addition of new features on the Web site, including blogs, topic-themed “communities” designed to foster interaction among users and between users and professionals, and new online learning opportunities. More than 10 Webinars and Horse Courses are set to appear under the Videos section of TheHorse.com (http://www.thehorse.com/Videos.aspx) in 2008, and other videos, including the weekly Ryder Report, have become popular fixtures on the site.

Christy West, Web Editor for TheHorse.com, and Dawn Garner, technical project manager for TheHorse.com’s parent company, Blood-Horse Publications, and other staff members revamped the site by reorganizing and restructuring the look in order for users to find information relevant to the problem they’re researching.

“This is a great first step to make TheHorse.com a more user-friendly place for horse owners and managers to find the information they need to better care for their horses,” said Kimberly S. Brown, Publisher/Editor of The Horse. “We invite our users to let us know what they want on the Web site by e-mailing editorial@TheHorse.com with topic or feature suggestions.”
