Tickets Now Available for The EQUUS Foundation "Deal or No Deal" Event in Syracuse

WESTPORT, CT - September 19, 2008 - Tickets are now available for EQUUS "Deal or No Deal" event at the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament on Friday, October 31, 2008. Hosted by Bates Saddles, The EQUUS Foundation will feature the top junior equitation riders competing at the show as the Deal or No Deal Suitcase Models.

The event, which will held in the OnCenter Ballroom from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, will take place simultaneously with the Bates Equitation Meeting where equitation riders, trainers and parents will have the opportunity to meet and hear from the judges and also take a break from the competition to enjoy a reception, dinner, and an entertaining take-off on the well-known TV show featuring emcee Mason Phelps, Jr., National Horse Show Chairman. The contestants will be chosen from among the audience so everyone has a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000, or make a deal for great prizes.

Recognizing that competition for charitable dollars is fierce, The EQUUS Foundation sponsors entertaining events each year in part to give something back to donors who give so generously. The EQUUS Foundation, Inc. recently announced the award of over $300,000 to 50 charities involved in equestrian and equine activities. The awards were made possible almost entirely from event contributors. Donations for event attendance are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

The EQUUS Foundation is seeking individuals and organizations in the equestrian community to assist with their gracious generosity. Suitcase Sponsorships (Tables of six) are $1,000; Individual seats are $100 per adult; $50 per child 12 and under.

For additional information on the EQUUS "Deal or No Deal" event, visit the EQUUS website at http://www.equusfoundation.org or contact The EQUUS Foundation, Inc., 168 Long Lots Road, Westport, CT 06880, telephone (203) 259-1550, email to equusfoundation@aol.com.

The EQUUS Foundation, Inc., established in August 2002, as a 501(c)(3) grant giving foundation, seeks to raise public awareness of the value of the horse in society through education and the award of grants to charities that use the horse to benefit the public, promote the health and welfare of horses, and elevate the equestrian sport as a whole.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for the selection of the grant recipients. The Board includes: Jenny Belknap, Chairman, Catherine Herman, Vice Chairman, David T. Goodwin, Secretary/Treasurer, Lynn Coakley, President, Pam Allardice, Margaret Bondy, Flavia Callari, David Distler, Gray Fadden, Julie Frank, Richard Mitchell DVM, James Newhouse, Clea Newman Soderlund, George N. Venizelos, and Visse Wedell.

Thanks to the generosity of its donors, The EQUUS Foundation helps thousands of people and horses each year. Over $1.1 million in grants have been awarded since the first awards in 2003. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
