Troxel Introduces World's First Helmet Designed Exclusively For Western Riders
Equestrian News Release
Sierra Sets New Standards in Western Styling, Comfort and Durability
San Diego, CA -- March 1 -- Troxel LLC, a leading manufacturer of
ASTM/SEI certified equestrian helmets and the leader in Western styled
safety helmets, has introduced the Sierra, the first Western helmet
designed exclusively for Western riders.
The uniquely Western look of the Sierra comes from three purpose-specific
materials: durable Cordura for high-wear areas and breathability, nylon
mesh for flow-thru ventilation, and grain leather for its combination of
strength and beauty. A leather covered retention system with steel
harness rings completes the rugged, outdoor Western look and sets it apart
from existing helmets on the market. Riders can choose between dual-toned
tan or a solid black color.
The Sierra provides the ultimate in comfort, being lightweight and
extremely well ventialted with seven mesh-covered vents that allow for
maximum cooling and airflow while also offering protection from bugs and
debris entering the helmet. Sun protection is provided by an extended,
flexible sun visor. The Sierra's comfortable, customized fit is achieved
through Troxel's unique combination of a patented GPS III Micro Adjustable
Fit System, and patented internal Flip-Fold Fit System that can be easily
adjusted by riders to meet their individual head shapes and sizes.
Troxel's advanced research and technology team designed the Sierra's
polycarbonate, in-molded shell and impact liner, achieving a more
streamlined and durable helmet. The in-molding process fuses the outer
shell with the inner EPS liner forming an integrated unit. The Fusion
Heel artfully merges the upper and lower shells and allows for an
additional rear vent positioned below the waist of the helmet.
"Social and cultural barriers obstructing the acceptance of wearing
protective headgear are finally being neutralized in the Western riding
community as more public health data defines the risks of riding, the
rates of head injuries and the effectiveness of certified helmets"
commented Dr. Rick Timms, Troxel's CEO. "With a helmet like the Sierra on
the market, riders have comfortable, authentic Western styling, and
Troxel's leadership in protection."
The Sierra is available in extra small/small (XS/S) or medium/large (M/L)
in tan or black. The Sierra can be purchased from select retailers and
catalogs at a SMRP of $119.95.
