What Happened Uno Wins 2007 NRCHA Limited Open Hackamore World Championship

“I’ve had the best year I’ve ever had showing,” said Arbon, Idaho, trainer Todd Fitch prior to the NRCHA World Championship Show. And after the Limited Open Hackamore finals, his year improved even more, as he took the Limited Open Hackamore World Championship on What Happened Uno.

Fitch and the flashy palomino earned a 431.5 (216/215.5) and $3,540. Registered in AQHA as What Happened Uno, and in APHA as Zanz Smart Pep Uno, the 5-year-old stallion is by Smart Pep Uno and out of Zans Blonde Whizard. He is owned by Vance and Jo Ann Ward.

Fitch has ridden “Pal” for almost three years, and the pair are the 2006 Nevada Stallion Stakes Limited Open Champions and the 2006 Utah Stallion Stakes Champions.

“This is really great,” Fitch noted after the awards ceremony – but the win photo and that quick quote were all he had time for. He had to help his son, Brody, who was about to show in the Youth Bridle finals. The younger Fitch earned a third place finish on his horse, Frosted Pistol Chex.

Bets Smart Lena was piloted to the Limited Open Hackamore Reserve Championship by Gerald Cosby. The 6-year-old stallion, by Smart Little Lena and out of Bet Yer Blue Boons, marked a 428.5 (209/219.5) and won $2,832.

Although Bets Smart Lena didn’t win the World Championship, he did earn another important title – that of the Limited Open Hackamore National Championship. Bets Smart Lena is owned by Youngblood Ltd.
