U.S. to Compete in World Breeding Championship
Equestrian News Release
The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will send four horse and rider combinations to the FEI/WBFSH* World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Dressage to be held in Verden, Germany, August 2 – 5, 2007.
The results of all three Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Selection Trials were tallied and horses from each age group (five and six year-olds) with an average score of at least 7.8 from the Selection Trials classes were ranked to form the USEF Young Horse Short List. The U.S. is allowed two horses in each age division to compete in the World Breeding Championship.
5-year-old Division:
- Lord Albert – Hanoverian gelding - Londonderry – Brenda by Brentano bred by Dr. Albert Schmidt, Germany; owned and ridden by David Blake of Westlake Village, CA;
- Cabana Boy – Hanoverian gelding - Contucci – Britania by Bordeaux bred by Doug & Shannon Langer, owned by Hilltop Farm, USA and ridden by Christopher Hickey of Colora, MD.
6-year-old Division:
- Donnermuth – Rheinlander gelding - Don Bedo – Wonne by Fichte/Breeder bred in Germany, owned by Candace Tate and ridden by Jessica Jo Tate of Walworth, WI;
- Mix Max DVH 840 - Danish Warmblood Stallion - Milan – Gitte by Bajazzo, bred by Joergen Olsen, Denmark, owned and ridden by Lars Holmberg of Sylmar, CA.
The team will be assisted by USEF Young Horse Dressage Coach, Mr. Scott Hassler, as Chef d’Equipe.
