USET Foundation Brunch at Rolex FEI World Cup Finals Hosted by Thomas Family

USET Foundation Brunch for Gold Medal Club Members and U.S. Athletes at Rolex FEI World Cup™ Finals Hosted by Thomas Family

LAS VEGAS, NV – April 25, 2007 – A USET Foundation Brunch for Gold Medal Club Members and U.S. athletes competing in the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Finals was held on Saturday, April 21, in the pavilion outside the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the athletes were competing. Peggy and Parry Thomas, for whom the arena is named, along with their daughter and USET Foundation Trustee, Jane Thomas, hosted the event. More than 100 guests attended.

USET Foundation President Jane Forbes Clark spoke to the gathering. She thanked the Gold Medal Club Members for their support, which helps the USET Foundation to provide funding for the athletes’ high performance programs. “We can’t do it without you,” Clark emphasized.

Clark made a special presentation to Peggy and Parry Thomas. She thanked them for hosting the brunch and noted that this was the second time the Thomases have hosted a brunch in Las Vegas during the World Cup on behalf of the USET Foundation, having also hosted at the 2005 World Cup in the same location. Guests applauded the Thomases as they joined Clark on the podium and received a gift from the Foundation.

Clark also called guests’ attention to the Athlete Portrait Campaign created by Elma Garcia. She noted that Garcia had donated her work on the extraordinary posters hanging in the walkway of the Thomas & Mack Arena and that the posters are on sale to the public at the 2007 Rolex FEI World Cup™ Finals as a benefit for the USET Foundation. She thanked Garcia for creating the campaign, which serves as both a public relations endeavor and a fundraiser, and for her tremendous donation to the Foundation.

Clark concluded by saying, “Thank you all for coming today. Enjoy the World Cup competition.”

Executive Director of the USET Foundation Bonnie Jenkins was in attendance and commented, “It’s great that our Gold Medal Club Members, who have shown such loyalty and generosity to the Foundation, can come together and visit with each other. It’s also a nice way for the Foundation to show our thanks to people who are critical for our mission and the success of our athletes.”
