Equestrians Support USET Foundation Through Celebrity Bartending with Leslie Howard and Margie Engle

Wellington, FL – February 20, 2007 – Olympians and star show jumping riders Leslie Howard and Margie Engle tried their hand at pouring drinks last night at the Wellington Golf & Country Club for Celebrity Bartending.

The evening of revelry, cocktails and appetizers was to benefit the USET Foundation, and numerous members of the equestrian community turned out to support the organization. Almost $400 was raised and will be donated to the foundation, which has launched the organization’s quadrennial campaign and the 2007 fundraising season at the Winter Equestrian Festival.

In 2006, the USET Foundation awarded a grant of $2 million to the USEF for their High Performance programs, which helped the teams achieve the most successful World Equestrian Games in U.S. history. This year, the foundation plans to match that figure and an additional $125,000 to provide for the high performance athletes and support staff that will be traveling to the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in July.

The United States Equestrian Team Foundation supports the competition, training, coaching, travel and educational needs of America’s elite and developing international High Performance horses and athletes in partnership with the U.S. Equestrian Federation.

Wellington Golf & Country Club, a semi-private club that was built in 1985 and recently underwent renovations, features a 40,000-square foot clubhouse with a large workout area, an oversized swimming pool with four heaters, tennis courts, a restaurant/bar and driving range. The clubhouse also has two large rooms for weddings, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays and meetings.
