Festival of Champions presented by Paul Miller, Inc. at Gladstone
GLADSTONE, NJ – June 14, 2006 – The USET Foundation Dressage Festival of Champions presented by Paul Miller, Inc. completed the Veterinary Inspection today for horses that will compete in three championships – the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Grand Prix Championship/World Equestrian Games Selection Trials; the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Intermediaire I Championship; and the USEF National Young Adult Dressage Championship. Dressage festival competition starts tomorrow, June 15, and runs through June 18, with classes held from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the USET Foundation’s headquarters in Gladstone, New Jersey.
The Veterinary Inspection (“Jog”) started off at 3:00pm today under overcast skies with pleasant temperatures in the upper 70s. Officiating were judges Anne Gribbons, “I”, USA and Uwe Mechlem, “O”, Germany. Brian O’Connor was the announcer.
The 12 horses qualified to compete in the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Grand Prix Championship/World Equestrian Games Selection Trials were first to exhibit and all 12 horses were accepted to compete. The horses were exhibited in the following order:
101 - Arabella, a 10 year old chestnut Danish Warmblood mare owned by Denise Arroyo and ridden by Heather Blitz
102 - Cooper, a 14 year old chestnut Holsteiner gelding owned and ridden by Suzanne Dansby Phelps
103 – Bese, a 13year old Dutch gelding owned by Diane Rosenberg and ridden by Catherine Morelli
104 - Eminence, an 11 year old chestnut Dutch Warmblood stallion owned and ridden by Lisette Milner
105 3. Tip Top, a 12 year old bay Swedish Warmblood stallion owned and ridden by Leslie Morse
106 - Wild One, a 10 year old bay Hanoverian gelding owned and ridden by Arlene Page
107 - Floriano, a 16 year old chestnut Westphalian gelding owned by Stephen Browning and Laurelyn Browning and ridden by Steffen Peters
108. Jazzman, a 15 year old chestnut Dutch Warmblood gelding owned and ridden by Donna Richardson
109 - Basquewille, a 15 year old bay Danish Warmblood gelding owned and ridden by Mette Rosencrantz;
110 - Aragon, a 14 year old grey Bavarian Warmblood gelding owned by Richard and Jane Brown and ridden by Guenter Seidel
111 - Succes, an 11 year old grey Danish Warmblood gelding owned by Lars Petersen and ridden by Melissa Taylor
112 - Marnix, a 12 year old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Charles and Joann Smith and ridden by George Williams
Up next were the 12 horses qualified to compete in the 2006 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Intermediaire I Championship, and again all 12 were accepted to compete. The horses were exhibited in the following order:
113 - Avant-Garde, a 17 year old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding owned and ridden by Nicole A. Bellah
114 - Rafalca, a 9 year old bay Oldenburg mare owned by Ann Romney and Amy Ebeling and ridden by Jan Ebeling
115 - Lex Barker, a 9 year old chestnut Hanoverian gelding owned by Elite European Sporthorses, Inc. and ridden by Michelle Gibson
116 - FontaineBleau, a 12 year old chestnut Hanoverian gelding owned and ridden by Teri Hallman.
117 - Regent, an 8 year old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Brenna Kucinski and ridden by Christopher Hickey
118 - Wellington, a 9 year old chestnut Hanoverian gelding owned and ridden by Melissa Jackson
119 - Fandango, a 10 year old bay Oldenburg gelding owned and ridden by Marie Meyers
120 - Brilliant Too, a 10 year old bay Dutch Warmblood/Thoroughbred gelding owned by Sharon Poulin and ridden by Katherine Poulin Neff
121 - Millenium, a 12 year old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Winter Age Stables and ridden by Silke Rembacz
122 - Lyra, an 11 year old bay Hessen mare owned by Stacey McCarthy and ridden by Christine Rivlin-Henke
123 - Princeton, an 8 year old grey Westphalian gelding owned by Guenter Seidel and Richard and Jane Brown and ridden by Guenter Seidel
124 - Schumacker Solyst, a 12 year old bay Danish Warmblood gelding owned and ridden by Melissa Taylor
Wrapping up the Veterinary Inspection were the seven horses that will compete in the USEF National Young Adult Dressage Championship. The winner of this championship will be awarded the inaugural Brentina Cup. One horse, Picasso, will be re-presented on Friday, June 15, at 7:30 AM. All of the other horses were accepted to compete. The horses were exhibited in the following order:
125 - Olivier, a 10-year-old KWPN Dutch Warmblood stallion ridden by Elisabeth Austin
126 - Eloge II, a 15-year-old Swedish Warmblood ridden by Nicki Grandia
127 - H.S. Wistar, a 10-year-old Hungarian Sport Horse stallion ridden by Jennifer Schrader-Williams
128 - Picasso, a 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding ridden by Lesley Eden
129 - Magic, a 14-year-old Westphalian gelding ridden by Bethany Peslar
130 - Bellinger, a 14-year-old Trakehner gelding ridden by Lauren Sprieser
131 - Bretone, an 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion ridden by Nora Batchelder
Orders of Go Drawn for June 15
Following the Veterinary Inspection, the draw for the Orders of Go for the first day of competition (June 15) took place in the Rotunda at the USET Foundation’s headquarters. The schedule for Thursday – June 15th is as follows:

10:00am USEF Prix St. Georges
12noon Lunch
1:00pm USEF Grand Prix
3:30pm FEI Young Rider Team Test

Concluding today’s activities at Gladstone, a Welcome Reception sponsored by Collecting Gaits Farm and Paul Miller was held in the Trophy Room at the USET Foundation’s headquarters. A fine array of hors d’oeuvres and refreshments were served and the attending riders, owners, and officials along with staff members from the USET Foundation and USEF had the opportunity to socialize in the welcoming environs of Gladstone.
