USET Foundation Hosted “Cocktails and Conversation” with Bleinheim Equisports Team

San Juan Capistrano, CA- August 25- The United States Equestrian Team Foundation and R.J. Brandes, CEO of Blenheim Equisports, hosted “Cocktails and Conversation,” on Friday, August 12, 2005, at Arden Cottage, the home of Mr. Brandes in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
George H. Morris, the U.S. Show Jumping Chef d’Equipe, gave a presentation outlining the vision and plan for the United States High Performance Show Jumping programs. Bonnie B. Jenkins, the executive director of the USET Foundation, explained the Foundation’s role in helping to raise the funds needed to successfully implement the programs that are critical to helping our country and athletes in their quest for success at the highest levels.
George Morris is considered to be one of the most influential trainers in the history of equestrian sport. He represented the United States Equestrian Team on the gold medal winning team at the Pan Am Games in 1959 and the silver medal winning team at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, Italy.
He has also served as the assistant coach for the 1996 Olympic Show Jumping Team that won the silver medal, co-Chef d’Equipe for the 1999 Pan Am silver medal winning team, and served jointly with Frank Chapot as Chef d’Equipe for the 2000 Olympic Show Jumping Team. Currently, his Samsung Super League team is in third place in the international standings.
Bonnie B. Jenkins started in the equestrian industry as a competitor. Mrs. Jenkins worked for the National Governing Body for over 15 years as Executive Director and as Director of the High Performance efforts. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the USET Foundation.
