Joan Jacobs and Boyke Win Adult Jumper Classic

East Dorset, VT - July 23, 2007 - This past week was the second of six weeks at the Vermont Summer Festival, and Deeridge Farm of East Aurora, NY, enjoyed their first time competing in the Green Mountains. They took top places in hunter and jumper classes, including a win in the Marshall & Sterling Adult Jumper Classic from Joan Jacobs and Boyke.

Jacobs and Boyke were the only clear trip in the first round of the Marshall & Sterling Adult Jumper Classic to take the blue ribbon. They also finished fourth in the NAL/WIHS Adult Jumper Classic on Saturday. Boyke won the reserve championship in the High Adult Jumpers. On her second horse, Go West, Joan was fourth in the High Adult Jumpers and eighth in the NAL/WIHS Adult Jumper Classic.

Lou Jacobs and his fantastic mount Kachina moved up from the High Amateur-Owner Jumpers to the Open Jumpers this week and were highly competitive. They finished third in the $10,000 Escada Open Jumper Welcome Stake. In their first grand prix performance together, Lou and Kachina were double clear and finished fourth in the $30,000 Battenkill Grand Prix, sponsored by Hand Motors. On Soleil, Lou was second in the High Junior/Amateur Jumpers.

Charlie Jacobs was another rider that moved up to the Open Jumpers. He had solid performances with Midnight Lady and Pia, who finished 11th in the grand prix. On Lydia, Charlie took top ribbons in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumpers.

Charlotte Jacobs was in the jog in multiple classes with both of her ponies, Hillcrest Penniewise and Court Jester, in the Large Pony Hunters. Melissa Jacobs won ribbons with Jouet and Rumors in the Children's Hunter 13 & Under. She and Jouet finished fourth in the NAL/WIHS Children's Hunter Classic.
