Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center Announces Ground Breaking on Capital Campaign

Wellington, FL – January 10, 2007 – Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center will launch the first phase of its Capital Campaign Kick Off with a barn show and ground breaking on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at the riding center in Loxahatchee Groves, FL.

The barn show is set to begin at 9 a.m., with a reception to follow at 12 p.m., and will finish with the ground breaking at 1 p.m. Invitees include a number of local dignitaries, including County Commissioner Jess Santamaria, State Senator Dave Aaronberg, State Representative Shelley Vana, and local elected officials and representatives of Western Chambers of Commerce.

As a nonprofit organization, Vinceremos must raise a sufficient amount of funding to operate on a daily basis and serve more than 350 clients each year, and Saturday’s event marks the start of the organization’s most ambitious fundraiser to date. The campaign plan, “Cover Our Kids,” comprises three phases: Building a covered riding arena, creating a new stable and office work space, and developing a parking area.

Vinceremos provides recreational and therapeutic riding instruction to people of all ages with varying developmental, physical and psychological disabilities in an energetic and nurturing setting. The organization has assisted more than 1000 adults and children in gaining a sense of accomplishment, greater independence and a higher quality of life.

The organization was founded in 1981 and now has the ability to serve more than 350 clients per year, working with a team of 15 specially trained equine partners and a staff of therapeutic riding instructors, occupational therapists and psychotherapists who are certified with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. VTRC is led by executive director Ruth Menor, who has been with the program since 1985.

On February 23, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, FL, Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center will host its 21st annual benefit and dinner dance, “Stars Unite.” The evening includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres with a silent auction and dinner, and is co-chaired by Tuny Page, Cetty Weiss and grand prix rider Candice King.
